I attempted installing the DA:O Toolset and while installing the SQL this error appeared. I read in the wiki about this problem, where it is explained that I have to fix something about a 'Protect' folder in Docs and Settings/NetworkService/Application Data/Microsoft, but there are no such folders. While searching C/:, I found several of them and unchecked what it said to uncheck in all of them, then I hit 'Retry' and nothing happened - the error still occured and there was no change. I'm with a 32bit XP, please, if anyone knows the solution to my problem, please help me.

This is Express or Developer edition? Else, it's not supported on XP Home(is it home?). And you need at least SP3 on XP, I believe.
As you mention, make sure the service account has control permissions on the directory (use windows explorer)
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/920114
The necessary folder may be hidden; to view:
Tools => Folder Options => View and deselected "Hide Protected Operating Systems Files (Recommended)"
For the C:\\Documents and Settings\\NetworkService\\Application Data\\Microsoft\\Protect folder: if missing simply add Network Service in the security tab of C:\\Documents and Settings\\NetworkService folder and give it full permissions.
SQL Server service does not start successfully because of a logon failure:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/282254
On a computer that has a multicore processor, you may be unable to install SQL Server 2005
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/954835
Also the SQL 2005 family does not support AMD K6-2 processors.
