Hi everyone,
Just saw some videos on youtube about PAX east 2013 etc..., and as a european living a loooooong way from Boston, wanted to ask if going to PAX east is worth it.. and since most of you here are from North America..
Is it a fun event to attend to ?
Does it take the 3 days to fully enjoy it or it can be easily seen in 1 day?
What do you do mostly there? I see some videos of conferences and such but in the meantime whats to be done?
Cheers!

I might do this during a gap year so I'll be watching this thread.
Also a question, how much is recommended to bring? Food, hotel and buying gifts from these gaming conventions?

I have no idea....
I´m also thinking about going there next year, thing is (for me) its 500€ + on plane tickets
Adding:
Food (~) 100€ day
Hotel, not sure about this never been to the US... probably (~)150 - 200 € day?
Some pocket money to buy stuff
and tickets (35$ single day or 75$ all 3 days, i believe)
(also from what I seen Boston is cold and rainy
so no beach or good sightseeing weather
So i got to think if its really worth it ..

Keep in mind there is also PAX Prime in Seattle in September, and PAX Australia.
It was a blast, but it really depends on what you make of it. If you go early, you can probably catch MOST of the games you want to see in a single day, if that's all you do. But if that's all you do, then you're missing out on some great panels.
I went all 3 days to PAX Prime last year, and didn't make it to everything I wanted. I did see almost all the games I wanted to (Borderlands 2 line was ridiculous, and I figured I could wait the 2 weeks for the launch, and Xcom Enemy Unknown, because I thought it was the OTHER Xcom). I had to choose between panels, however, and didn't get to spend much time in the indie arcade.

Don't they do gadget shows and showing off new technology?
