But on to my point. When Loghain left the king during the big battle in the beginning I was extremely pissed. Now granted I think in some way shape or form Loghain had a thing for Maric deep down inside. And I am sure he was pissed about losing Rowan to Maric in the end. But he chose that path. So why the hell would he just desert Maric's son like that.
Now granted I did not like Calain at all. He was an ass of a character that needed to die and it was hard to believe he was Marics son when seeing him in game.
But did anyone else feel completely let down by this?

that being said, I was PISSED when that happened. I mentioned in another post my wife laughing at me last night becuase i started cussing the guy out lol.
I think they're doing a great job in the story line so far. Really gets you into it.

Calain was foolish and naive, but he did ask Loghain if they should wait for Reinforcements and Loghain told him No. The battle plan was Loghain's. Calain was sacrificed in order for Loghain to take control and insure that his plan for Ferelden remained in place.
Now me, I am taking my time working toward the bloodbath that will be our reunion. I do not want it to be quick, nor painless on his part. Oh no. Going to take my time and bleed him slow and painfully. Had a nice conversation with one of his men in Lothering and told him to let Loghain know I was coming for him.

Eh, he's a [douche]. I'm sure there's more to the story than we realize, but that doesn't make Loghain a non-[douche].

Maybe there is a Scooby Doo scene where we rip his mask off to find he is actually been Marics 4th cousin 3 times removed all along and the real Loghain died from complications with a hang nail years ago.

Well his buddy Howe offed my family, Loghain tried to kill me in a battle with the darkspawn, and then blame ME for killing the king, and there's a bounty on my head. Not to mention the the happenings in Redcliffe. So he's not gaining any points here, Woo. I'd like to believe that my family also had Ferelden's best interests in their hearts. When we meet, he is going to die. I don't care what his reasons. He chose the wrong allies.
I wish there had been a choice in camp to tell him that Howe betrayed my family. But there wasn't. That seemed silly.

That's pretty much a guarantee that the character's a Magnificent Bastard.

Now, now. Every story needs a Magnificent Bastard, they are Magnificent afterall.

Yes we all sorta expected Loghain to do this at some point..but in all the previous videos before release it never revealed it happening like this.

Dude, why didn't you mark this as SPOILER. This is a HUGE spoiler in the game and you REALLY should put that on your title. I have past this point luckily..but had I not I would be extremely pissed.

If I have a peev it's just that Bioware games always have weak Archers. I can take my fledgling Archer and Dual Blade melee better and survive better than with the Bow he is skilled in. I also remember NWN2 never had an Archery prestige class (Arcane Archer was a Wizard class). It may get better, but from here Archery looks like weak sauce, again. Anyone ever hear of Robin Hood?

Um... NY1978 the whole FORUM is marked spoiler... marking individual posts as such would be kinda re-dundant... you know, saying the same thing over and over again?

No, I mean the Robin Hood from the classic story. And why is there no Archery Specialization in Dragon Age, Bioware? What Specialization should an Archer character take? Ranger usually trades off Archery ability for Animal Companions. The other Rogues are melee-centric.

Why would there be an achery specialization when there are twelve talents already dedicated to archery?

Anyway, it's a moot point because it will never be added and most players won't ever notice.

(Spoiler...)
I killed him, happily, cause i hated him in the stolen throne and thought he should have died there.
Nothing he did was justified, and though you guys tried to make a case to keep him around i chopped off his head and feel good about the choice to do so. (I think maric should have killed him in the book as well, but meh, as long as hes dead im happy.)
Did i mention i really hated him in the book?
As an aside i should probably say congrats to a degree to david gaider, few authors have made me actively dislike a fictional character as much as i hated loghain in the stolen throne, right up there with joffrey in a song of ice and fire. (I mean this in a good way, he was written as a evil bastard that unlike most such characters actively made me cheer, and strive, for his death.)
