I chose Destroy thinking Shepard would die in that ending anyway. Even if Destroy was the only ending which would demand Shepard's life, I would still choose it. A future free of the Reapers is worth it.

The entire Catalyst nonsense is still nonsense. Entirely.

"Shepard, where do you want these Reapers?"

Shepard: In the metal scrap pile like the Geth are.

Shorter note: DESTROY THE REAPERS!

I chose destroy with the original ending. I chose destroy with the EC. Problem?

Whether Shepard lives or dies I choose Synthesis. I've only chosen Destroy once just to see what would happen and Control once for the same reason. I wouldn't change my mind.

Still gonna choose destroy. Synthesis is wrong
IMO and I don't really fancy speaking to my crew while controling the reapers

Wonder if you could control the Reapers juuust enough to go run off, away from Shepard with a few check-ins here or there so she knows what's going on with 'em. Still getting rid of them and still able to focus enough for Shepard to handle a normal existence.. ish.

I will choose Mehem for all the playthroughs I'll do, which probably won't be many anymore.
For me it's the perfect ending.

All the other endings don't make sense to me.

I agree with that. In total, the Star-Child-Catalyst thing doesn't exist in my headcanon. At all!

I would stick with Destroy.

Shepard's survival was never a factor for me in choosing Destroy. In fact on my first run through the game, I had no idea that Shepard could survive Destroy. And since I didn't play multiplayer, he didn't.

Destroy was always the most appealing option to me because it is the only one where the Reaper War ends in a triumph. Control and Synthesis are stalemate endings.

Shep's survival never factored into it in the first place for me.

Damn, I voted for the wrong option, was supposed to vote for "I'd keep Synthesis as my ending". Clicked on Destroy instead xD

I also thought about refusing with that option and trying to get to Synthesis through "normal evolution" (even though that would probably fail, since organics tend to return to their old ways after nearly every crysis).

And for me, Shepard dying was never a "bad ending" issue. True heroes die. Read some greek myths :P
But seriously, I would have loved him to live and have the Citadel party at the end of the game, but yeah, that's life =)

True heroes don't have to die, unless they're tragic heroes. Shepard is not a tragic hero.

Anyways, I'm not sure.

In any case, I picked Control because it's the right thing to do.  Survival or not was never the primary concern for me.

It would seem people do want to pick Destroy, whether he survives or not.

But on topic, I might be more tempted to pick Contro.

The Reaper War ends in a draw with neither side having succeeded in destroying the other. The Reapers and the civilizations of the galaxy simply stop fighting each other, while the Reapers maintain a fully intact and operational fleet capable of annihilating the galaxy any time. The war concludes in armistice and a return to the status quo antebellum. (galaxy's future determined by A.I. overlord)

Destroy is the only ending where the Reaper War ends in victory for the civilizations of the galaxy.

It ends in defeat in Refuse.

I would still pick destroy if Shepard lived in all endings, as I would also still pick it even if he died in destroy. I pick destroy not because of Shepard's fate, but because I honestly think its the best (relatively speaking, since all the endings are not "good") choice.
