I for one am still on the boat that the Inquisitor must be the child of Ser Jory.

Shepard. The Inquisitor is either going to be addressed as Inquisitor and.or by their surname, so it is probably going to be a simple surname with meaning with it that characters will use frequently like Hawke was.

something long and complicated enough that everyone just calls you Tim regardless of gender.

On a serious note. I hope they pick something that's not as lame as Hawke. Hawke just comes off as if they tried so hard to give the protagonist a "cool" name.

I'm partial to something French-sounding. I'm sort of hoping the Inquisitor is Orlesian.

y'know now that i think about it, i personally would actually much rather select from a list of first names than be referred to by your surname even among family... :/

King.
It's short (I'm talking about the surname) and catchy, plus I'm sure a sarcastic Inquisitor would have a field day with it.

Do you think it will even come up?
I think think it's more likely the PC will just be called "inquisitor" and last name won't be used at all.
Its been a while since I've played but in DAO you were just called "grey warden" or something and last name was only relevant in noble origins and even then it was rarely used.

Won't it be a little bit awkward if your companions called you 'Inquisitor'. I didn't like it when Wynne referred to me as 'Warden' in Origins.
You're spending a year together and they still don't get formal with you?
Hawke felt like a strong name (you can't choose your own surname as well), but the presence of one of your siblings wasn't really helping.
