It seems that way. I wish it wasn't though, I'd really like to play as an elf.

Also, i rather have a first name set - they picked Marrian and Garret in DA2, and even the names in DA 1 were all good. They should set the first name and be done with it.

As for calling them by title, I don't care as long as the LI doesn't do it too. Because, seriously.
(Unless said title isn't "Inquisitor" but "Baby", "Honey", "My sun and stars" or something along the line)

Needs to be somewhat short and sweet with a punch. A hero's name. I liked both Hawke and Shepard for names. I've no clue what they'll use but I'm confident it will be good. I'd like a french last name to go with Orlais, though.
It would be something simple say like Hawke is, it also be a name with a meaning attached to it. I was thinking of names like Achilles "hero of the Trojan War", Balfour "young, idealistic hero", Barnes ""hero of Hemmingway's novel" or Clifford for "Clifford the Big Red Dog".

It could be dependent on your background as in Origins.Sylvius the Mad wrote...
I very much hope they don't saddle us with a set surname, again.
Now suggest a name.

I suspect that was part of the purpose in giving us a title. At worst, I suspect surnames will be Background dependent.Sylvius the Mad wrote...
