I hope Justinia was in the peace meeting in the Temple of Sacred Ashes and died, and then the Inquisitor will have the option of supporting the Black Divine.

@Exaltaton

From what I have seen so far I don't believe that we as players are going to get much from northern Thedas. ( that could change through) This is just my opinion from what we have seen so far but, I believe that the game will focus a great deal in Orlais. We may see a bit of Tevinter here and there, but they once had control over all of Thedas, leaving relics of that time behind.

I wouldn't be surprised if Justinia was killed in the explosion, along with several of her supporters. This makes me wonder what state the Chantry is currently in after this event.

The Black Divine's authority does not extend anywhere near the area where the game takes place. We'd have to go to Tevinter for that to make any sense.

Absolute chaos. Having lost the templars AND the Circle, most Grand Clerics will find themselves without bodyguards. There'll probably a great deal of infighting as they can't decide on a course of action or on a new Divine, and the Chantry as a whole will probably be an impediment towards resolution rather than an aid.

Probably.

I'll agree to that Dragonflight288.

It would be interesting to see how a disorganized Chantry would interact with the Inquisition. Would they act with confidence and authority, or well they beg the Inquisition for help.

Looking at the line up of characters we will have in our organization, I hope to see Cassandra, Leliana, and possibly Cullen interacting with the Chantry after joining the Inquisition. IMO Leliana particular could have some interesting discussions. If Justinia does die at the start I could she her trying to tell the remaining Chantry leaders that they should have listened to her.

And I can see the remaining Chantry higher-ups not paying attention until the darkspawn are at the gates of Denerim the demons are pouring into Val Royeaux.

Maybe we'll be in another Kingmaker scenario, or a "Divine-maker" scenario. If someone says that maybe choosing the ruler of Orlais and the new Divine is too much, I will point them to DA:O and its two kingmaker plots.

That always seems to be the way things go.

Until I know for sure that Justinia is dead, I'm going to hold off on the idea of possibly choosing the next Divine. When it comes to choosing who rules Orlais, I wouldn't choose either.

I was watching one of abilitydrains videos today and she brought up some cool tidbits. I don't know if this is an absolute fact or not, but it sounds like the Inquisition may have been a plan that Justinia made if all her other plans failed.

Thanks Renznore57

Even though I'm not a fan of the Chantry, or the idea that possibly two of our three advisers have past connections to it. I'm happy that we as players don't have to support them if we don't want to. Which makes me wonder if our advisers will turn on us if we go against their advice.

"Whatever we were before, we are now the Inquisition." - quote from trailer

So I'm going to go with no. They may not be happy with you, but I doubt a straight up betrayal. Plus their anger will be more "If you don't do what I suggest, the Inquisition will suffer for it." than petty hatred.

LoL that line was said by inq and doesn't mean that lives up to reality in fact that that woul be super naive to belive in dark fantasy and even outside dark fantasy.Pretty much leliana already tried to kill you for doing something opposite to her faith so well...

In fact most most of companions will pull that out in da series if you oppose their ideals or beliefs.

Does anyone know if E3 confirmed that Justinia is dead?

They didn't really dwell on the opening catastrophe this time, but I consider it already confirmed, anyway—if not explicitly, then at least implicitly.

As much as I like her (for a Divine)just like I like Ol' Frankie (for a Pope)—, I'm much sadder about the mage leaders to be honest. (Rhys! Alimommy!! Nooo!!! :( And to add insult to injury, I'm sure Adrian didn't attend the meeting.)

If Justinia did die (I'm pretty sure she did as well) at the start of the game. I wonder how this will affect Leliana and Cassandra. I mean Leliana was very loyal to her long before she became Divine and Cassandra's view on the world was pretty black and white on how things worked.

Leliana will probably take it very hard. Justinia helped her when she was at her lowest in life, and she has shown an undying loyalty to her ever since. Depending on the playthrough, it could happen only some years after losing the Warden, who could have been her friend or lover.

As for Cassandra, she seems the professional type. No time to weep, there's an assassin to catch and a Breach to close. Cassandra may be the Right Hand of the Divine, but "her" Divine was Beatrix III, so I don't think she is as close to Justinia as Leliana is.

I don't fully agree with your opinion on Cassandra. I think it will hit her just as much as it did Leliana, or close to anyway, but I agree that Cassandra will have more "The time to mourn will come later" attitude about it.

Thought I'd just add this theory to the others that are here.

When the Enemies of Thedas Trailer came out we see a white glowing figure that the Inquisitor reaches for with their hand. Some are speculating that because the figures head looks very similar to the head dress wore by the Divines of the Chantry, that is could be Justinia. Could this figure be the Divine? Could it be Flemeth doing her rescue the hero thing? Or is it some thing else entirely?

Any thoughts?

Yes because everyone knows that divine is glowing green light ;)

That is probably fade creature and only proper and safe way to deal with such creatures is kill it before it cause damage 3 rule in da setting.

LOL wouldn't it be hillarious if the explosion somehow put Justinia into the fade and the whole grabbing for her hand is an attempt by the Inquisitor to rescue her later in the game.  Non chantry players would have a fit.  Unless of course they were given the option to not save her, but seriously how evil would you have to be.

That would be an interesting option. Save Justinia in the fade, or leave her to wander the void for all eternity.

in her defense it wasn't only her actions that lead to the templar mage war that thing have been looming for centuries and it took the extremists on both sides before the war finally broke out.
