Hi all,
just curious about your opinion.I
personally really, really, really did not like the ending.

Now I know
there was a Extended Cut patch and I am not saying it is not a good work, but
personally I did not like it.

Reason?  Well, I played the games a few times each and
recently I decided to play them back to back importing the characters, and doing
everything as I always wanted, including all the DLCs.

I saved
Wrex, I saved the Arachni Queen, I saved the Genophage cure, I saved Terra
Nova, and got in to the suicide mission with the full crew of 12 and all
survived.

Was a
Paragon champion, had a relationship with Liara in the 1st and 3rd
and kept faithful in the 2nd and maxed all the war assets.

However
this is supposed to be a RPG and playing a RPG is all about choosing a path; in
the last romantic scene before the final mission Liara says that it is such a
big universe and a small ship like the Normandy could disappear easily in a far
away remote planet.

In the
final leg of the final mission on earth (before entering the Citadel) I was
there with EDI and Liara and when both almost got killed, Sheppard call for an
emergency evac. and tell Liara that no matter what will happen she (my
character was female) would always love her.

So,
after endless fight, hardship, being killed, being resurrected, arrested and
more Sheppard can chose between die, die or die (I know there is a glimmer of
hope after the renegade ending but for a Paragon character the central option
is the only way possible, beside, you don’t really know if she makes it, just
that breath once).

What about a
happier ending? What about “a few blue children”? What about choosing not
to lose the only good thing that ever happened to Sheppard?  Hell, why not to throw Anderson body in the
central path, was fresh anyhow.

Now, it is
not a criticism as such, good game even if I do not like EA policies and
practices;  as ME goes to such an extent
to help create a emotional response and link between the player and the main
character, the die, die or die ending does not feel right.

From a
critical point of vew the religious metaphor of the center path does not feel
right either; not a religious person myself but the sacrifice, salvation, ascension, synthesis
is just an easy way out IMHO.

Anyhow,
feel free to comment or ignore, just my feelings about the ending.

Look
forward to see what you think of it.

Ops, posted in the wrong forum... so it looks like if the game is not registered I can post in the ME3 forum.

Go figure! Never mind.
