Why does anyone here actually care about score? We all know it's all about the credits and maxing out the manifest, NOTHING ELSE.

Funny. I've heard the exact same argument from every leech I've ever encountered. I'm starting to believe it's not true.

Had a juggernaut the other day that spent half the game shooting his spitfire into the sky on white.  I think he really hates snow.

I have to be the best all the time. When I beat them the losers get a brand on their arm saying "property of Saints".

You sir, are incorrect.

Score is the only thing that matters in ME3. Teamwork doesn't matter, fun doesn't matter. Only score matters.

I never look at score. If an opportunity presents its self to nuke a spawn and get a killstreak, I will do it.

What now OP, what now?

fun is a four letter word around these parts

"You can't fight him. You can't stop him. You can only... run."
"'Run' is a four-letter word... a three-letter word."
OT: low score -> longer game -> less credits -> longer to max manifest
So score matter.

Score shows the effectiveness of each player and the whole team. I would never play platinum with person that cannot handle gold. It also shows how good the kit is (is platinum worthy). On platinum I don't care about my score that much. I am happy if there is a better player because I know that he can handle the wave if I die.

Well I care. If I see someone outscoring me I pullout my rocket on wave 11, so....

some D-bag did that to me before, we were neck in neck on score and I must have had about a good 10k points on him despite him previously using a rocket and he ended up beating me by 2k points with his rocket...I know i shouldn't care but when you use pure skill to be the best on your team and some guy uses a rocket to climb up the ranks it kinda gets you mad.

Because people who can't contribute by killing stuff makes the game unnessessarily difficult for me.

And longer. Which makes the maxing-out-the-manifest part take longer.

That's so wrong. The main reason you should be playing is for fun.
If you don't think it's fun, then there's no point in playing it in the first place.

Competing score with friends can at least add some spice in fun, but playing it just for the sake of maxing out manifest sounds like a lot of waste of time. You'll stop playing it after maxing it out anyway.

I've never played games just to unlock achievements, max out manifests, collect all the collectables, etc.

You argument has a flaw, in that you do not recognize that the people who are obsessed with maxing their manifest might feel that to be THEIR definition of fun, even though it is not yours, or others.

I dont really care about max manifest. And my UR drop rate seems to have plummeted to 1-5%, ever since the last DLC, so it will be a while before I ever get there. But I would still play with a starting manifest or max manifest, the game play is simply fun (despite many annoyances & bugs).

I check the score all the time, but I dont exactly care, I am just more or less seeing how I am performing. Some games I feel like I am doing awesome, only to fined out I am in 3rd, and others I feel like I am doing awful, only to find out I am in 1st. But I am not exactly trying to get into 1st or avoid 4th. But I am curious how well I am making the kit/weapon perform.

There is something nice though when you take a "bad" kit with a "bad" weapon, and then outperform a bunch of "OP" kits & weapons.

People want to know they did well. That's not really an issue for me. If you want to be competitive that's fine. I get competetive playing backyard football. Nothing wrong with having bragging rights over your friends. But you should always remember those accomplishments mean very little to anyone else.

I like to know how I'm doing. Also, until just recently I was working hard to get lots of points because of "Spectre Mastery - Earn 25,000,000 points."

This. I'm so sick of people whining about how "score doesn't matter, blahblah". The game is about having fun. It is human nature to be competitive... AKA it's fun to be on top.

Anyone trying to theorize how score doesn't matter via psychobabble, actually cares about score too much.

Actually, on a decent team EVERYONE should have a low score, e.g. < 100k on gold - means you nuked everything on the objective waves, people didn't die much and you just generally mopped up really quickly... the faster the game the lower the overall payout in points.

From what I've seen, statistically on the games i played, where the scores are all equivalent and the team is reasonably good, the players tends to play more games on the same team. I think I'm not the only one who noticed this.
