It's a bit late but I think biggs should have explain what kind of skill and for what purpose are these players he is asking for. Only then can we even attempt to make an informed decision. There is a major difference between the skills it takes to solo a platinum vs the skills needed to develop a speed running strategy for example.

Biggs if you can be more specific and then those players that fit the criteria are interested then we would be able to help you better.

From the OP it seemed like he was looking for a single person from the PS3 to compete in something or other.

Seriously. It's not about score. The first time I met Disciple888 I outscored him and he called himself a scrub and for a bit of time somehow I became his "padiwan" as I heard from people.

I am definitely NOT the best player on PS3.

I want to put in a plug for the best player I have personally seen on PS3, and one that I'm not sure is even on the BSN (either that, or his screen name just doesn't match)...

I've only run into him a few times in random PUGs. But he's good. Really goddamn good.  Good enough that I still remember his name months later, and I tend to forget most of them almost immediately.
