If any of you live in or near Boston, I hope you and your loved ones are alright.

What an awful and completely unacceptable act of terrorism.

So sad the way crazy people target large public events to maximize civilian damage.

I think the guy missed his main mark. Evidently, they had hoped that the explosion would spill over onto the track itself and potentially kill the leading man in the race, but the footge shows the inferno itself remaining fairly contained within the hotel. However, I think it was supposed to just be a distraction anyway, they found other unexploded devices littered over the area, which they've thankfully disarmed now.

My thoughts are to the victims and their families. Lived in many countries where civil war roared and tragedies like this one are hearth-tearing, no matter what. There is no excuse whatsoever, wherever!

It is disgusting! Only monsters without any humanity can think of doing something like this. I hope they find the authors of this one very soon.

My sympathies go to those affected. Though I think people forget that this kind of thing happens a lot in other parts of the world, and we hear nothing of it, which in my mind is just as tragic.

Scary world we live in. The scariest aspect is that so many people hate us and there are so many crazy people out there there is no real way to know who did it.

My thoughts are with the victims, especially the family of that eight year old child.

I hope the survivors are going to be alright .

Bet it was some sicko who did this rather than Al'Qaeda (although they're sickos too).

@Mad Hanar

Many humans are worst than animals. This isn't just a scary world, it's a pathetic one.

My significant other of nine years and her lady friends were at the Red Sox game today, and where planning on walking over to see the Marathon afterwards… I was having a panic attack for a solid hour as I could not reach her by cell phone, I got through to her on her cell around 4:00. Their all alright, they were a block up from the second blast. The law enforcement cut all cellular towers in case there were more devices, they were worried they could be activated by cellphone.

They city hasn't said much, there still tracking down leads.

I'm just at a loss for words for the poor excuse of human life involved in coordinating such an attack. Maybe weak, gutless, sad I don't know. I just hope there tried on the federal level because there is no death penalty in Massachusetts.

many prayers for Boston- one of our greatest cities very sad. But now sadness has turned to anger, we will find those responsible. And we will kill all of them.

I want to say something, but I cannot. Let's just say that certain people are most likely disappointed they cannot put this on certain agendas.

Indeed. If this is terrorism, we will hunt you the heck down. And get retribution. You can run, but you cannot hide forever.

I want to know whose responsible for this and seem them get life in prison, death penalty is too good for them.

Domestic terrorist or foreign terrorist, they will pay.

I agree, except about the prison thing, I don't want my taxpaying money to house these pigs. I'm all for execution or hopefully die in a dynamic entry type raid, much like ole' Osama. However, I fear that this is not done yet. I hate these extremist's, they cause carnage and mayhem and then use the words of God and faith to justifiy it. disgusting pigs. All of them must be killed.

I'm so sorry Boston. Just know that your fellow Americans got your back. Prayers.

I remember, when 9/11 went down, my reaction was, "Well, I've had it with humanity."

But I was wrong. I don't know what's going to be revealed to be behind all of this mayhem. One human insect or a poisonous mass of broken sociopaths.

But here's what I DO know. If it's one person or a HUNDRED people, that number is not even a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of a percent of the population on this planet. You watch the videos of the carnage and there are people running TOWARDS the destruction to help out. (Thanks FAKE Gallery founder and owner Paul Kozlowski for pointing this out to me). This is a giant planet and we're lucky to live on it but there are prices and penalties incurred for the daily miracle of existence. One of them is, every once in awhile, the wiring of a tiny sliver of the species gets snarled and they're pointed towards darkness.

But the vast majority stands against that darkness and, like white blood cells attacking a virus, they dilute and weaken and eventually wash away the evil doers and, more importantly, the damage they wreak. This is beyond religion or creed or nation. We would not be here if humanity were inherently evil. We'd have eaten ourselves alive long ago.

So when you spot violence, or bigotry, or intolerance or fear or just garden-variety misogyny, hatred or ignorance, just look it in the eye and think, "The good outnumber you, and we always will."

Regardless of agenda of person/people behind this, changes are they entertained thoughts pretty much identical with yours. Unfortunatelly  they actually turned these thoughts into action unlike you.

..Who are these discusting pigs who need to die if actor(s) behind this originate  from same pile  of narcist estranged mental health cases that end up shooting up their schools? People with mental disorders? Loners wearing trench coats? What?

Before I read this I had a "I don't want to live on this planet anymore" mindset about the whole situation. That kind of cheered me up.

Life in our jails? I say put them in stockades at the scene and let nature take its course.

Forget the internet and forget what you see on T.V or utube and the rest. Look at those people you hold dear. That is humanity.
There is a lot of bad that goes on in the world and it always gets the attention but in my 33 1/2 years on this planet I know people are better then that. As cynical as I can get I always know there are more that want and try to do better. Even if they are not the center of the news cycle.
