So we have a lot of weapon choices. A LOT. But all I really see people use are stuff like Harrier, Hurricane, Acolyte, Claymore, Raider, Reegar,  Wraith, Lancer, Black Widow, Javelin, etc.

What weapons that aren't used much are actually pretty good or can stand up to these powerhouses? I'm trying to get some more perspective is why I'm asking.

I've been able to decimate enemies with all of these. Especially the first two on a caster class.

I'm not very good with them, but I feel the Argus and Arc Pistol could be very good in the right hands.

I hardly see the Typhoon, Particle Rifle, or the Saber. All of which are very good guns. Also I really enjoy the Crusader and I almost never see that.

The Geth Plasma Shotgun is pretty good but I almost never see people use it.

I don't se much lately: paladin, carny, tempest, krysea (yes it's still quite good)
As for new ones..IDK about you but I don't see much of Adas in pugs and it's a great gun

OP, I started to compile a list of weapons I like, that are not the "cool kids" you listed, but the list got so long, it became silly.

So I'll cut to the chase.

I really enjoy using a lot of weapons not on your list and I would get bored if I restricted myself to the more popular weapons.

Shuriken. It's good at doing no real damage, having god awful burst fire, and being the worst part of the SMG challenge.

Both of mine have been mentioned, Arc Pistol which is the best head shot pistol in the game imo and the Indra that works really well on a lot of class if you feel like playing 'at distance' but don't want to be a true sniper.

I will vouch for the Arc Pistol as well. Charged-up it ignores shield gate, and headshots do astonishing damage for such a lightweight weapon.

I had totally wrote this weapon off as garbage, due to the prone overheating. Even after hearing about the rapid fire technique, I never gave it a second chance... until recently. Wow! Very good gun.

Definitely Kishock.

I just did a Gold solo with this gun, and it is very powerful + gives you some physics lulz.

I recorded the game, I'll upload it and enthread it eventually.

i recently started using snipers, and this was the first gun i used

LOTS of fun. + the charge up mechanics allows 2 shots to be fired in cloak.. love it

Indra, tempest, graal and the GPS. The tempest is an outstanding SMG, in my opinion it's the second best SMG in the game behind the CSMG (which I hardly see anymore either)! I use the tempest on gold all the time and it rocks.
