No way! I'm a straight man though have experimented in my past so i have nothing against bisexuals or homosexuals in general.
However I find Zevran absolutely repellent. When he came onto me in the game i was like "yuck get away" :-) He is so sleazy and slimey.
The only male party member who i view as attractive (other than myself of course) is Alistair :-)
What is with people and Alistair 0_o
And believe me....if "swooping" is anywhere in the reply, I swear I'll smack you <_<
"Swooping is bad"
*ducks before the smack*
TAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!! *readies hand*
*flees*
I'm a ninja!
Though yeah Zev's a cool dude, not very trustworthy but yeah he's alright.

As a straight male (who admittedly prefers to play female characters), I really like Zevran - both as a friend and as a romance option. I also like that Bioware actually put a male homosexual romance option in the game. I think it speaks volumes.
Zevran is funny, quick-witted, considerably more loyal than people give him credit for, and just a generally awesome guy. He can come across as a bit too sleazy at times, but you kind of have to get to know him. But no, I don't fawn over him like some of the women do

Zevran isn't homosexual. He's not even bisexual. He's more manysexual. He's like Captain Jack from Doctor Who / Torchwood. He'd have sex with anything.
Now that you mention it, I agree completely!
I liked Zevran, I had him in my party the whole first playthrough. He's definitely the funniest character in dialogue with the main character, and on par with the rest of them for banters.
I think I'd like him in real-life, too, as a kind of funny friend, or something like that. Although I suppose I'd have an issue with all the murders and assassinations

I recruited Zev on my first playthrough, never used him, and got betrayed. Ended up killing him.
Second play thru, I killed him on the spot.
Third playthrough, I recruited him and gave him a chance. I dialogued, befriended him and found him to be a hilarious baboon, amongst an otherwise collection of serious characters. He is a bad**** assassin/rogue, is fantastic in a fight and never goes down, unless he was the last one standing. His banter with other party members, alone, is worth keeping him around.
I did, however, have trouble levelling both his stealing and disarming capabilities, so I had to rely on Leliana most of the time to pick locks and disarm traps. That's the price you pay for a kick**** backstabbing fighter...all a trade-off in what you're looking for.
Bottom line: Morrigan and Leliana are my clear favorite characters, however Zev became my solid third favorite once I gave him a chance. I was very surprised of this because I couldn't stand him at first sight. On this last playthrough, he's the only one who wanted to continue with me. Zev became a great and loyal (something I wasn't prepared for) friend...more so than Morrigan it would seem.

My (male) elf warrior jumped into the sack with Zevran pretty early. I then thought, well, that was it, easy come, easy go, on to greater challenges. A while afterwards, I got the "it's so cold in my tent" line from Morrigan. Achievement unlocked. I continued talking to Zevran and he became warmer and closer than I would have expected inasmuch as when Morrigan had me choose between her and Zevran, I had to think about it, but then chose Zevran. Then a romance with Leliana followed that went through all the stages from "The stars are so beautiful" to "We'll best just stay friends" in about five minutes. Again, I couldn't bring myself to ditch Zevran in order to sleep with her.
Morrigan turned all icy on me afterwards, until [SPOILERS!!!] I found the golden mirror and she got all soggy again. Women!
Zevran sort of grew on me in a way I wouldn't have expected. I constantly get the highest approval from him (except for Dog) and I enjoy his conversations (which, sadly, have run out at the moment...) and his banter with other party members (Wynne!). I never seem to get along with Alistair (max approval at about 65) very well, but Zevran was a big surprise.
The only thing that irritates me is his blond hair clashing with his dark skin. It just looks incongruous to me. I looked for mods but those I found either turned him into an Aragorn lookalike seedy club bouncer (ever seen an elf with stubble? Not a pretty sight...) or an effeminate fair-skinned elf boy. I'll keep him as he is, bleached hair or not.

EDIT: Spoilers below. Didn't realize this was the no-spoilers section of the forums... Hopefully a mod will move this whole thread.I never said no such thing. I said Zevran betrays you if you do not pamper him. Even if I did not speak to any other party member at all, they would not leave until I do something that conflicts with them, and rightly so. What do you ever do to Zevran for him to turn on you? Zevran swore and oath, and had the option to leave himself. He did neither, yet if you do not pamper him, he will try to kill you.
He's an assassin that had a contract to kill you. Are you really so surprised that if your approval with him is too low, he'll betray you when Talisen comes calling? The reason he doesn't betray you earlier is because if he leaves you, the Crows will kill him (and he says as much if you try to send him away). When Talisen offers to bring him back into the fold, Zevran leaps at the chance... unless you've given him a reason not to by becoming his friend or lover. I think he'd be a much more shallow character if he DIDN'T betray you in those circumstances.
The reason that the other NPCs won't betray you is because they all
a) have their own agenda that's better served by tagging along with you (i.e., Alistair, Morrigan), or
c) have nothing better to do (i.e., Sten, Shale, Oghren).
Zevran never planned on joining you, and only did so as an out (that is to say, he doesn't want to be tracked down and killed by the Crows). If you don't "pamper" him by spending maybe five minutes talking to him and throwing character-specific gifts his way, then yes, he will stab you in the back. To me, that makes him a morally flawed, interesting, and deep character. Not everyone honors their oaths and it makes me laugh that you'd even mention that.

LOL. "I'm all ears." Such a lame joke, but it gets me every time.Oghren: Elf!
Zevran: Oghren!
Oghren: I have something to say to you!
Zevran: I am all ears, as we elves like to say.
Oghren: I... Well, now I forgot.
Zevran: Alas.
Oghren: But just know I had something.
Zevran: You've had several somethings, I suspect. It's part of your charm.

Recruited Zev on my first play-through with a female character, didn't think much of him, and picked him when I wanted to see what would happen if I told a party member to leave. Felt a complete heel at how sad he sounded.
Second play-through, with a male character, nailing Zev was one of my main goals ;o) He didn't disappoint...

Usually it's the women fawning over the male characters, but what about the men here? I'm not a particular fan of his gay relationship, but I think he's just a fun character to be around in general. Everybody else in this game is just too serious, but Zevran actually manages to stay scarastic and funny throughout the whole. Also, I like the fact that he's a bit of a horndog. IMO, videogame characters are just too pure (if you get what I mean). I just think it's awesome to finally find a character who like sex just as much as I do.
(I think this is the right forum for this discussion; I didn't post any spoilers).
Everybody else in this game is just too serious... wat?
Um did we play the same game?
Oghren, Shale, Dog, and arguebly Alistair and Leliana are far from serious. The first three being just plain fun and/or comic relief first and formost.
Other then that odd comment of yours, I gotta say, I dug Zevran. Certainly wasn't my favorite character, but him and Oghren made a great comedic duo.
