Really tho that is a shame. Maybe there is a business oppurtunity for you. If you do it, do not forget the  stroopwafel. http://en.wikipedia....ki/Stroopwafels

And a little  waffle trivia.
In medieval Europe, vendors were permitted to sell their waffles outside of churches on saints' days and during other special religious celebrations. Competition at the churches eventually became very heated, and at times violent, so that King Charles IX of France imposed a regulation on waffle sales, requiring vendors to maintain a distance of at least deux toises (4 m/12 ft) from one another.

I bet zeveran likes waffles he does seem like the type that likes to try new things...

Not a guy, but I find him a fun character despite, not because of his dubious sexual allure.  My first run, I sent him on his way-- I mean, he just tried to kill us! But I'd heard he was funny, so second time through, I stepped out of character and let him join. Just worth it for dragging him around the Orzammar Commons and listening to the banter. My favourite (no spoilers) is when he gets into a "theological" discussion with Alistair :P

That's slightly worrying...if I'm honest

Yeah. Kinda freaked me out, too. More than a little disturbing.

As in real life, all you have to do is decline the invitation. ;)
Y'know, some of you guys are coming off as a tad insecure....

Yeah, Zevran's alright and I like him a lot and though I still haven't finished my first playthrough and don't know how he develops up to the end, I have to admit that up to now I feel like Bioware have done an excellent job in fleshing out excellently good and believable characters. To such an extent that gives me the opportunity to replay the game time and time again by role-playing different kind of characters that feel and interact differently to these companions.

If Zevran was a character I knew in real life I'd never go for him (and I don't think he would be interested either), but I'd definitely join him down the pub for a few drinks.

By the way, RageGT I really enjoyed your movie series with the best party banter, so thanks for sharing!

Thanks you, PetrosS, and BW for the material.

Btw,  I also killed Zevran and I liked it! :o

Yeah...as a sidenote that "omg I'm no ******" attitude a few posters have displayed here is very offputting as a girl. -shrug- You just know they come with oodles of self esteem issues.

Mmmmm maybe to you but I know plenty of women IRL life who would find it queer and off-putting for some guys to -not- be put off by guy-guy action. You do realize you're being as offensive as the ones you are finding offensive with the derogatory/stereotype insults, right?

On topic, I don't like Zevran in the slightest and he's hardly in my party.

Being male, and my personality more like Alistairs, I just find that Zevrans character is comparable to the traits I don't like in people IRL. Completely sleezy, one track minded and obssesed with sex.  I've had (so called) friends like this in the past and they are constantly jumping from person to person and being douchebags, completely selfish and have no positive traits to speak of other than humor. So I find it hard to like such a character in game.

All I expect from Zevran is * insert flirty/sex line/suggestine of sex line/innuendos here* and it gets rather repetitive and boring after a while. With other characters the party banter could be anything  and it's always hilarious, but zevrans banter is always related to sex. IMO, Zevran lacks depth. Zzzzzzz.

While I can not speak for your country or fellow country men I know here in the states there is always some room for a foregin food restaurant. Good location and some luck like any other business.  My inlaws (my sisters wifes family) have 3 chinese bakery's here on the easy coast and have done very well with them.
And before anyone asks, no they do not make waffles :P

I apologize to thread and will try not to further derail it here :)

I'm not suggesting they have to watch gay porn to have decent self esteem, lol. But the guys who are utterly fixated on/derrogatory about his sexual preferences...yes. I think there's a definite trend of being unsure of themselves. I grew up in a very conservative area, those types of guys are a dime a dozen back home.

And I'm being no more derrogatory than they are about gay men. -shrug-

Actually I was not that keen on Zev to start with. Alistair seemed way more my type.

Yet I did the bromance thing and he grew on me (Antivan mold ?). Once I got past the sleaze/somewhat stereotype front, I just got to like the guy.

Well the topic is asking an opinion......people are giving it. If someone doesn't like Zevran because they are turned off of the idea of Zevran being bisexual, they are just stating that. Not everyone is PC y'kno, specially not guys ;). Doesn't make them insecure now does it ;p.

And I gave my opinion. It has nothing to do with being politically correct...my experience is that men who are made pathologically uncomfortable by homosexuality are offputting. I have had this discussion with my (heterosexual) female friends as well, and they agree it's tiresome.

EDIT: Homophobia where I come from is generally also accompanied by talk of how many chick's he's banged, how powerful his engine is (no euphamism intended), and who's ass he would kick, how much his hi-def TV cost, etc.

IE, a lack of self esteem.

Zevran has a kind of Antonio Banderas vibe to him, I'm heterosexual, but find his coming onto my male characters amusing, normally I have an affair with him while doing the fandango with my female interest in game as well.

Too bad that:

1.- I study philosophy
2.- I'm horrible for cooking, I mean, I've cut myself in the hand more than one time while trying to cut a bread...

I'd say it does. Regardless of the topic thread and personal opinions regarding homosexuality (this doesn't even need to be a discussion that involves sexuality anyway), I'm not sure I understand the need for any guy to come across as being so defensive. When I sit there and read about how people find it "sickening" that he may occasionally make a pass at them, all I can really do is laugh at how needless it is. I mean, really...people get their backs up THAT much about a character apparently making a pass at them in a game?

Watch out guys. DO NOT turn your backs on Zevran, lest he attack you with every inch of his uncircumcised, throbbing pixels :?

People need to start accepting more homosexuality as a reality you know? Cheers Bioware for bringing closer the topic.

And yes, I agree with Sarielle... I mean, each time I defend homosexuality the typical commentary like "uuu if you like them so much why dont you go and make out with a man you ******" arises, specially in my family... very conservative and narrow minded.

One has to stand for the right of people and freedom, and get rid of theological lies.

None of that was expressed here however. You didn't give your opinion at the topic, just insulting people for not liking Zev because they don't like the idea of a man hitting on them, specially one whos sex obsessed.

Self Esteem is about how you value yourself.....I'm not really seeing how it relates to being uncomfortable of the thought of guy-guy action here.

What's even funnier is having some guy try to pick up your boyfriend when he doesn't realize you're together. :o

While the bf quickly cleared things up, he had a sense of humor about it afterwards...said something along the lines of  "he didn't even try to buy me a drink." We hadn't dated for very long at that point but it definitely earned him some brownie points.

Noooooo....has nothing to do with not liking Zev.

One of the first responses, brings up sexuality and nothing else. Maybe you think Zevran is annoying, or whatever. But when someone only focuses on his sexual preferences...well. It's no different from Leliana hitting on my character...where a simple "I think you have the wrong idea" solves the whole problem.

I think perhaps you feel I'm attacking you for disliking Zevran...and I'm not.

EDIT: Crap. I thought I was editing my last post. :pinched:

And for the record, I did list my opinions on Zevran well before I commented on the other.

Likewise.
I might not trust him any farther than I could throw him (which now
that I think about it...might be pretty far, he's a little guy) in a
relationship sense -- RL me we're talking about here -- I could have
some hilarious fun with him.

Then again though, I'm a girl. [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/whistling.png[/smilie]
