I really think the next game is going to be co-op centric.
I usualy ignore co-op games, because they pretty much requier you to play co-op or you will miss out on content, or the AI of non co-op squadies or allies will be terrible because it was added as an afterthought.
I can't expect the people I know to be available for Co-op when I want to play a game or viceversa...

I'd much rather have an RTS or real time tactics game. Leading human armies against Turian invaders? Count me in for that. Hell an RTS at any point in ME's timeline and you could count me in.

Movie about First Contact War makes sense, but game about it would be an epic fail (especially if it will not be an RPG).
This, also I'd love to see an RTS or even a Civ. like game but in the Mass Effect Universe, that would be awesome.

the game would be more accessible and more appreciated.
maybe its too difficult to accomplish, or not deemed a requirement of making a shooter no a days.

This is still a rumor though. It does and doesn't surprise me that they went for a prequel. It makes sense because they won't have to deal with the ending of ME3 just yet. On the other hand, Casey Hudson himself asked the community what they wanted, and they said a sequel, so proposing that this is what the fans wanted is now out of the question.

**** no, a prequel? About a subject that was already covered in a comic? And that's a complete shift from third to first person?
No. Absolutely not. 0/10 would not play.
This times a kajillion.

If they wanted a new way to explore the Mass Effect universe, I'd argue for them to try a game like Elite, Privateer or Freelancer, only maybe with more opportunity to shape the background and choices of your own character in addittion to your ship. Kind of like a hybrid between an RPG and the "space fighter" gameplay.
Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be a market for those type of games anyomre, and they're not really the kind of games that Bioware makes.

it should be Lets move forward or reboot with a new storyline.
I mean honestly the timetable of human expantion is far feched. unless a ton of people left earth asap then maybe but still... and humans haven't even been in spaceflight for 35 years so the time window for any RPG-TPS is rather limited. Now if we are talking stratagy/simulation (empire building) then maybe but in all honesty going though the first contact war wont be that intresting.

It would be glorious. It won't happen, though, I mean they posted a topic asking what fans would like to see in the next ME game. They would practically have to do the exact opposite..to...what.....fans........Oh s***.

The alternate timeline route could be seen as a reboot of the franchise I guess. But it would also be a sour reminder that the current endings messed up the franchise to the point that they had to start over and reboot it.

1) Devs already straight up said it is neither a prequel, sequel, or during to ME; completely something askew to what we've experienced.
2) They also said that the new game will maintain what we have been playing the last 5-7 years; no MMO officially, and more than likely, no FPS.
Just a fan writing theories of what he wants.

it has nothing to do with the ME3 endings. Bioware only ever promised that choices would be carried over for a trilogy of games. Not to mention carrying the choices over to an entirely new generation of consoles could prove pretty damn difficult, if not impossible.anorling wrote...

Many universes do it. Just look at Star Trek. The next game could be ME's version of "The Next Generation". It's focus could and most likely will be entirely different from the Shepard Trilogy.
