Just as she said to Sir Jory: they were irrelevant in the larger scheme of the things to come.
And if you had a circle mage (because if you are a mage you get a second warrior instead), do you think Flemeth has any love for that one?

Either dog managed to escape and track you down, with the darkspawn not caring about a dog running away.

Or Flemeth saved dog because of either
a) a soft spot for animals or
understanding that dog was special to the player, his/her only link to the previous life and thus an anchor to sanity, a reminder that the world is worth saving

Dog is really Flemeth, keeping an eye on you. Hehe.

Edit: Please note spelling. No wonder we can't find threads and posts when doing a search, half of them don't spell the names correctly. So a search won't turn up what you're looking for. In the post, it doesn't matter, in the title it does.

Flemeth knew that Dog would likely be a better conversationalist and a more rationale companion to have on your journey than Alistair... but she rescued Alistair just in case, catching glimpses of the future isn't exactly 100% accurate.

Wow that just gave me the best image of a killer cut scean.  Have a whole army of humans facing off with an army of Mabari.  Yet instead of wepons all the humans have sticks.  When the Mabari charge the humans throw the sticks and the Mabari turn around and chase them. EPIC!

Hey, people can like belly rubs too....     And wouldn't not chasing sticks just be part of the natural Mabari intelligence and thus disdain?  Dog seems to think it rather disgusting that he be fed people, for instance.

Flemeth didnt save the Circle Mage because she feared that he will expose her as an apostate.



The dog.. maybe theres enough room for it in her claws when she rescued them .

That said...I don't know if birds technically have ankles either.

We all assuming that whatever Flemeth turned into only had 2 talons from Morrigan's description of it being a "large bird". For all we know Morrigan thinks you should spearhead an archdemon yourself with barehands.

those dogs are practically supernatural and don't need flemeth to be saved.
when you don't play the human noble origin (so no dog from the start) and successfully completed the kennel quest in ostagar you'll find the dog who"s live you saved not only alive but still fighting darkspawn (while you were unconscious for days!) when you travel out of the region.

Flemeth's hut was a walkable distance from Ostager. You collected the vials of blood and treaties before it got dark.



It would have been possible for the dog to have walked there while you were still recovering. Or it could have just jumped onto Flemeth's back and held on with its jaw.

And who's to say it wasn't another of her daughters that becomes dog?  Maybe Morrigan lied about her being the only one....
