WHAT IS GOING ON!? I almost unlocked every class specialization, except assassin, (stupid zevran) and I went to school, thinking, ok I'll get this today as I unlocked the door. And you know what happened when I got on? All of the specializations unlocked were deleted!!!!!!!!!!! I had to unlock all of them again! Coincidentally It was having troubles connecting to online or whatever and the game updated.... Is there something someone isn't telling me? What the hell this makes my ****** boil. :alien:<3:D:wizard::happy::innocent:<_<:devil::devil::devil::devil::ph34r::bandit::o:o:o

And no it isn't just because you don't know what a DLC is, but take for example all the damn smilies you spammed in your first post, and then your third post is nothing but caps lock yelling.

Successful way to re-unlock your specializations if you did download the patch is as follows; You have to do a Gamertag Recovery. This forces Microsoft to re-sync your profile and therefor corrects the error applied by the patch. To do this, sign out of all your profiles then select the box for Profile Sign-In, select Recover Gamertag and input the information for your Xbox Live ID. It wont erase or change any of your data because you are simply re-writing the profile you already have back onto to your hard-drive. Then go into an old save file, find a way to re-unlock just one specialization (I suggest using some party members' dialogue options) then save in a NEW file. Exit the game completely, then when you go back in all specializations you had unlocked will be re-opened across your entire profile. Yay!

I had the same problem, too, last night. I started my fourth playthrough with a lot of the specializations unlocked. Last time I leveled up during the Battle of Ostagar act, I noticed that my warrior's specializations are gone. I freaked out and tried researching the problem since. I've heard of the "Recruiter" achievement bug, as well as the update bug, and I was wondering if anyone knows if this matter will be fixed.
To be honest, the main thing I care about with this current playthrough is unlocking Champion and Reaver (I had a perfect setup where I would have all the warriors have each specialization, with Sten having Champion and my PC having Reaver). I am confused by different answers from different sources, so I wanted to know, if I defile the sacred ashes, will I not be able to unlock the Champion specialization?

You will not, in the same playthrough no, unless you unlock the Reaver specialization and then go back and reload an old save from before doing so and go from there WITHOUT spoiling the ashes. You have to heal the Arl and then let him give you a reward to be made champions to unlock it, but this really isnt the thread to go into all that.

damn, that sucks. Oh well, I guess I'll just clear my cache to fix the permanent problem, then play through to the urn of sacred ashes, unlock champion, then reload and replay to get reaver.

I am on my first playthrough with this game and I am wondering if this method of unlocking reaver then loading a previous save still works. I went to redcliffe last in the game and do not want to lose wynne. Also how do i check if i unlocked it or not, i only see my specialization icons on the level up screen. I play on the 360 if that matters.

Yes, it can work. When you initially meet Kolgrim, you have to "agree" to help him. Of course characters like Wynne and Alistair will complain but you can persuade check them to trust you. Do everything as normal from that point. When you get to the objective (you know what I mean), save your game. Do the evil deed and leave the room. When you meet Kolgrim outside he'll thank you and offer you your reward. (You'll probably either have to leave Wynne behind at party camp or be ready to kill her because once you do the evil deed.....you know.) Once you've unlocked reaver you can just reload that save at the "objective" and NOT do anything bad. When you leave the room Kolgrim will be mad and you can spring your Serbian Jew Double Bluff and fight him.

thanks. in addition i was able to check if i had reaver unlocked at party camp by leveling up oghren since i dont use him that much.
