Though in all honesty, while I have nothing against Spectre, I don't see the point in it; why do you need to be in a group to feel validated on your skills in a video game?

Well, I've seen a lot of videos from members in this so called Spectre Scrub group and very seldom have I been impressed. It is my honest opinion that HardcoreSalmon is the best active player on Xbox from BSN today and both Mr. Biggs, Discruble888, Cainscrub and Megascrub is far less skilled players at this game than he is.

But I can totally see why you are scared Biggie, because you would just get embarrassed when you're at the bottom of the scoreboard like a little noobie 

I've played with hardcore sammon plenty of times and even duo'd platinum with him twice. He's good but not better than those you mentioned and I don't like you talking about my friend biggs:P

I have a feeling that a number of people posting here about the group being full of epeen elitest DBs/wanting no part of it secretly want to be a part of SPECTRE, but know they just wouldn't make the cut. Which is why they result to sarcastic comments and petty insults, but continue to post in a thread about a group that they supposedly don't care about. If you really don't care, then why continue to post? Just leave and be done with it.

biggs threw out all the trash, and most of the others showed themselves out before he could. There are a lot of misconceptions about the group, and those of you that continue to disparage it couldn't be more wrong. The ones who act like DBs on BSN are actually the exact opposite in party/game.

This thread is fascinating on so many levels.  I'm not a spectre, probably will never be a spectre (my skills are spectacularly average), but all the spectres/former spectres I've played with are nice guys who know how to treat a lady right.

We can play with everyone, everyone here knows that I play with everyone, but the group is not for everyone.

So, what's the problem?

For such a group that is quick to critisize and critique everyone, you sure do not take criticism very well. At the first sign of trouble, your members (not all) turn into the stereotypical DB group with a mob mentallity. Yes, you are are amazing at the game, people get it, and being recognized for your accomplishments is important to you guys as well, believe me, the forum gets that.

Personally I think you guys enjoy the drama (and recognition), otherwise you would "pick your choosen few" in private, simply based of recommendations. You guys want the lime light, you want to place yourselves on a pedistal, then you should also learn to be mature about it. Just my 2 cents.

We ( at least I didn't when I was the leader of the PC group ) take anyone in for a recomendation.

We play with the players and depending on how they play ( I personally don't base it in score ) then one can think if it can be part of Spectre.

Not sure if anyone listed in the S.p.E.c.T.R.E. is a better player than the other. I think we all have our skills and abilities. For example I enjoy playing with Caineghis because I know he plays like I do in where he can score very well AND do the objectives. only1biggs plays chill most of the time but when he puts his try hard hat on (which is rare) he kills the score board with his try hard kits which are very good, megabeast...well...not sure how he got in j/k always a good player and does very well, Disciple888...never played with him and I keep on forgetting to add him to my buddy list and get our games going....dont know anything about him except that he seems like a funny cool guy..... HardcoreSalmon...never played with him...I did send him a message once to get something going but no response. I think he's probably a very intelligent player from what I have seen.

Overall we all have our skills and play styles. The point of the group I think is probably just to have fun and not deal with "carrying" in matches. Everytime we play together there is never a thought of the possibility of failing Platinum or challenges. Not once does that thought come to mind when playing with S.p.E.c.T.R.E members. That's really the thought behind it. Play tons of games with skilled players on the hardest difficulties and challenges without the thought of failure. Everyone can carry their own weight and because of that the games are fun and full of laughs and thats all there is to it really.

You read some trash talking here and there from the S.p.E.c.T.R.E. guys but its mostly just show. Every single one of these guys would take out time to help anyone level up, play games with people they don't know and just have fun. The point of the group is to play effective games with other good players and be successful which for many equates to fun as it does feel good seeing mission successful with full extraction every time.

I don't think anyone can outscore you when you are hosting.  I remember our last game (Cerberus/White) where troopers were walking on air and I was rubberbanding between the inside and outside of the base when stationary behind cover (when inside).  One of the rare times I rage-quit on wave 1.

The spectres is pretty much just a mass effect players. And despite the bad attitude of some, none of their skills can be denied.

I play a few times a week with some of the guys in this group and Im wondering how they got in with the rule about no killing Abominukes or closing the reactor doors.  Its pretty much guarenteed to happen.

Skill is based on too many different things to just put an Standard.

I can't snipe with a sniper for example, but I make miracles with a Claymore.

Recognotion is cool, and I enjoy the videos you all put together. The spectacle you all make about joining your group however, is a bit ridiculous. If you are going to exclude 99.9 percent of the forum you are posting on, then have members get butthurt when there is backlash, well, if you are going to make such strict requirements to get in, you should include some standards for behavior as well.

You guys are so concerned about people making you look bad if they can't hold your standards in the game, but your reputation gets far more tarnished here in the forum.

If you lock biggs in the reactor, kill him with a possessed, and feed him to a praetorian all in the same match he will make you an officer.

I know when I can host and when I can't, that day I shouldn't have done it, but I want to sacrifice some PUGs LOL.

Score doesn't mean skill by any way, I hardly ever play to get a huge score, hardly ever and i'm the kind of player who really doesn't check score.

Skill in the other hand, you can just see if a player is skilled just in the way it takes down some enemies and in the way it does that and the techniques the player use in the game.

Skill means a lot of things.

Then why act like that on the forums?  If you're looking for new players to join your private gaming community, why not just ask if someone wants to play some matches and if you think they are "best of the best", then invite them into your gaming group via PM?  If they don't meet your standards, just say "thanks for the games" and move on.  It just smacks of elitism to make a post looking for people to join, while also saying "oh, btw, you have to pass our tests before you can even be considered to be invited to our self proclaimed best of the best club."  That was the biggest problem I had from the start.  You want to find new blood to play with, fine.  But why not go about it without sounding like an epeen measuring contest?
