Does anyone know how to delete modules
you screwed up and can't use? And why won't it let me change anything on
them once they are created? :(

As far as I understand, you can't. The only way I know how to clean everything up is to backup the old database using the included backup utility file, then begin by restoring the original database and start fresh.

okay. Because I made a new fake module, named it dao_prc_ep1, but somehow set the properties/hierarchy wrong and it did not include Single Player. Now it won't let me make another one with that name, and it won't let me change it. So, I'll see if there is any way of fixing this without reinstalling the database. Thank you DahliaLynn... :)
~~~EDITED~~~ I fixed it, All I did was open the module and I was able to add single player!!!!! YEA!!!!:blush::pinched:
The toolset stopped working. I had it open yesterday looking at scripts, did not do or save anything. Opened some erfs and extracted scripts to look at. Then in the afternoon, the toolset would not load. I restarted windows, still will not load (blue box stating toolset stopped working). Tried running as admin, no go. I am running defrag now, hoping that will fix the problem. I have had the toolset crash while using it and an OS restart usually fixed it, but never had it refuse to open before.
Any hints would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
Do you have any error messages? Do a search and see if you can find a log file that states exactly why it 'stopped working'
The last time I had the problem, I was trying to save space and compressed some files that I shouldn't have. I did manage to 'fix it', but I had to find the log file that told me where the problem was.
Wow. I am stumped :(
A lot of these look to be from natural bodies all in one. I have that installed as an override with DA Mod Manager
Well, the first thing that I would do is use DA Mod Manager to remove natural bodies all in one. I've never used DA Mod Manager so I can't speak to what it does or how it does it, but the first step seems to be to remove some of those error messages so that you can see what the root of the problem is.
Did you do anything between when the toolset did work and when the toolset didn't work?
It looks like (to me and I am NO expert) fairly normal. at 3:31 it resumed after being idle for over 23000 seconds.
Then at 4:26pm, you tried again with no error message from the database. You may have had problems, but up until 4:26pm, they weren't showing up as database problems.
Between 4:26 and 5:03, things went all to heck in a hand basket. I would clean out the "Windows Events log if it is full" I WOULD make sure and save the events from the past few days.
I did a search on "Error: 17054, Severity: 16, State: 1" and found several links. I don't know how useful they are because this really isn't my area of expertise:
http://social.msdn.m...ldatabaseengine
I don't know if that will be of any use, it seemed... vague to me, but maybe you can do more specific searches and find something
A better link:
Doesn't seem to be as good as the other, but still may be useful:
Are the error messages in the database folder the same?
Did you get rid of the natural bodies mod? I don't think they are causing the problem, but all of the garbage messages that they are causing makes it hard to determine what is a problem and what is just garbage.
Between morning and afternoon - assuming you had the toolset open the whole time? Hard to say. A reboot, another program that caused the paths to change, installing another piece of software, upgrading - it depends on what was done on the desktop between morning and afternoon.
The first virus I ever got came to me courtesy of Microsoft. So don't assume that it has nothing to do with Windows updates.
OMG, I am so stupid. I extracted some scripts to look at. then I changed 4 of them (a gda and a couple of uti's and a couple of utc's) and stuck them in the module folder for later reference. They were the reason. I moved them out of there and the toolset opened up like nothing was ever wrong with it. I sure learned a VALUABLE lesson from this, and wasted my whole weekend.
I am sorry to bother everyone. Thank you so much. I am deleting all these huge log files above.
