Was playing with 2 crazy bastards that wanted to specifically play Hazard Glacier/Collectors/Platinum. They wanted to 3-man it, even though I'm a scrub.

Wave 9, we'd already burned all of our gels, and I kinda accidentally killed a possessed abomination on top of one of them. I revived him, but it killed all momentum, and we ended up surrounded as **** pretty quickly. I managed to run away, since I was invisible and such, but he didn't. I tried to double back, because he was still SUPER surrounded, and I couldn't clear the area fast enough. He got stomped before I could get back, so suddenly I was clutching a wave.

I can't clutch Platinum. Like, not even a little. After about 40 seconds alone, I killed a possessed abomination that was too close to me, and I was down with 0 gels. My incompetence was all it took to sabotage the match. I felt so lame afterwards that after leaving the party, I even played a Silver match to feel like I wasn't so terribad at the game.

So what are your biggest fails? Any fun stories of accidentally killing the entire team in the reactor during a hack or fun stuff like that?

sorry to hear that. I had been put in a situation like that too before and felt bad for not being able to solo

One of the first times I played a Batarian character... dying in wave 1 on Bronze. Not even against Collectors. Probably my biggest face palm. Then, there's the realizing too late that the EZ is not where you're standing on Dagger. You just thought your squaddies were off killing mooks.

Decided to play a Gold match with the avenger, just for old times sake. Joined a good PuG team on Glacier vs Cerberus. We chugged along well enough when to my alarm I found the others all down and me solo half a wave.

The avenger can take a while, but I got to the last trooper who ignored the damage and walked up and hit me over the head. Game over, no gels left.

I could've just backed away, but I was so sure that ol' Jessie wouldn't let me down. No hard feelings, but I later chucked it out the airlock.

you have to know that your digestive system is like a vending machine if you dont choose the usual crap it would just give you the quarters back. Its like eating lots of corn....

Hard game with Collectors London was coming to an end, 5 seconds to extraction. Praetorian was very close to LZ, shot him with overload, hit and killed possessed abombination, who wiped teammate but not me. Felt really embarrassed.

Just failed bad yesterday at Condor/Collectors...on SILVER, with a Valkryie. Yes, lag was bad with enemies suddenly developing AF immunity, but still...I was rocking a good gun (executioner) and with TECHARMOR should've been able to do better. To make myself feel better I did a round of blowing everything up with the Drellfiltrator...

I wish I could post more success stories, I seem to show up with alarming consistency in these failthreads.

A friend of mine almost made a huge one.

Dagger/Collectors/Gold. Me and a random got sync'd, leaving just my friend and another random. It's a 4-device objective, and by the time I got grabbed there was only one left. My friend stood close to the random as the latter took care of the device, and a Possessed Abomination ran up. Considering all the crap that was coming for him it's no surprise this happened (panic and all), but he punched the little bugger out. And naturally, it exploded. On top of both of them. As the device almost finished. I kinda yelled "Dude!!!" in exasperation (something I still feel bad about, considering it's just a game)... and then the money popped up. After taking a second to breathe, I realized that they just got it done before the explosion went off. When our minds registered this, he gel'd and rocketed the stuff coming for them. We extracted.

Ah, I did something similar to a missile-glitcher and an enabler of his (i.e. someone who actively helped him when he went down... which seems hard to do when you have an Insta-Kill Gun, but whatever) in the last five seconds of extraction. A Possessed Abomination ran in. I popped a Stim Pack and killed it. Everyone except me went down, because I had invincibility.

Luckily enough though, I still had just enough time to get my friend up, who was playing legitimately. No one else though. Hee hee.

Yeah, I've heard that they really suck even with AOE cannon of Doom, dying every wave. It's hard to imagine that somebody can suck that hard in a pretty easy PVE game.

I once shot the swarm as it neared the LZ on Hazard Glacier with seconds till extraction. It got annoyed and killed everyone but me.

Plenty of kids eat quarters. That, or I just had weird friends as a kid.

Also, it wasn't the failing to clutch so much as it was the fact that it was absolutely my fault that clutching was necessary.

Human Vanguard lvl 20 with Acolyte for the pistol challenge. Knowing I suck with Acolyte (can't seem to get used to power up and bounciness) I start a - wait for it - bronze (!) lobby to ease into it. Start mission, BC into mook spawn and hammer my mouse button out of habit (I want kills with my weapon after all). *facepalm*

Ok so now my barrier is gone, time to BC. I almost break the keyboard apart but nothing happens. As i lie bleeding out (NO, I WILL NOT WASTE A GEL FOR THIS SUCKAGE) i realize i had been pressing the "2" key. Didn't spec into shockwave obvsly.

so i wiped. In wave 1. On bronze.

it doesn't get more pathetic than that...
