Internet meme spam for great justice! (?)

But, seriously, I've met more female gamers than you can shake a stick at. Just go to a gaming con or a major college and hang around the Tech buildings. (I don't do the second for no reason, I sort of go to class there! But I do go to cons for no reason. Except Pycon, which I will miss this year. *sadface*)

You'll meet a lot of female gamers at Renaissance festivals and history re-enactment groups. We gals in these groups are all kind of geeky and enjoy role-playing, so it's rather natural for us to dress up in Elizabethan and speak forsoothly on weekends and game on week-nights. :)

You know, maybe it was a mistake to post that, because now he knows where to look. He will probably creep around on college properties now to find said creatures called 'gaming females'.

Ladies and gentlemen I would like to thank you all for your great input. You will all help me get an A in my scocial class. My project was to see what would the effect be on random people if a topic was brought up that was typically sexest and well beyond the means of modern day society. This has been a remarkable and somewhat entertaining experiance. If I have offended any of you I am sorry, but i'll do almost anything to get an A. Once agian thank you, and appologies.

He does NOT count as man. Brothers and sisters are - by nature - no human beings but ugly and stupid monsters.
Unless you´re weird.

All he needs to know is that I am going to miss Pycon, and that is a Very Sad Thing.

See my sadface?

See it!?

I work in the game industry, and from my experience, there are A LOT of female gamers out there. Most of the ones I know enjoy RPGs and Action/Adventure games. I don't understand why someone would think that's weird. Stereotypes like this need to stop lol. Its like all male gamers are fat ugly people that live in basements and only eat nachos and their parents hopes and dreams for their future. I think this article sums it all up.

I know of at least one woman in real life who plays Dragon Age (and effectively widowed her husband as a result of her addiction to the game) and several others who would at least be interested in the game due to being roleplayers and gamers but who for various reasons may not have tried it yet.

Your sample is horribly skewed on this forum.  These are not random people by any stretch of the imagination.  These people are gamers... sick and twisted abominations that lie on the very fringes of society.

Just kidding.  Please don't hurt me. 8[

Seriously though, these are people who are on the same forum because of very similar interests (i.e. specifically because of Dragon Age: Origins or Mass Effect).  I guarantee you that the responses you get here will differ wildly from responses of some random people you walk up to in public.

I assume you're in high school, so something like this would probably slide.  But if your teacher is someone who actually wants you to learn (you know, the teachers everyone hates because they don't just hand out easy marks), you should reconsider what you're doing.  Either state that you realize your sample is skewed and explain why you decided to use it regardless, or actually go out there and redo your experiment.

Actually this may be a college course ... I remember having to do similar when I was going for game design through the University of Pheonix online. It was for their psychology requirement.

And if it is similar to the assignment I had, he did what was needed, they don't really care about the skewed results just that he went through and gathered the data required for the experiment.

Though, if he mentions about how reliable (or lack thereof in this case) the results were in this type of retrieval ... it could show his out of the box thoughts and could grant bonus points to the assignment.
