As cliched as it was i didn't mind the Catalyst/Reaper Intelligence the final scene but i wonder how that scene would have played out if it took another form. If Bioware really wanted to hammer home the idea that "Shepard is the Catalyst" they could have just made it a ghostly image of Shepard(you already hear Meer's and Hale's voices echoing over the Catalyst).

I thought that Shep was the catalyst once, but changed my mind as it's pretty well documented in story that the cat is the intelligence gone catalyst. Another word for 'change' or condition of such as in acting upon other stuff to cause change. It's core program, the intelligence was set with the objective of solving the riddle of chaos. Apparently Shepard is only another 'ingredient' added to the mix, along with the crucible to provide the raw materials(mostly energy?) to commit the catalyst to the choices menu..

I've asked the board/BSN about what it meant by 'chaos'.. didn't get much feedback tho..

I think it would be great if he changed forms. Like pull our every guild out of Shepard and show it.

Like Nihlus, Ashley, Mordin, Thane, ME2 casulties, Bakara if she dies, Wrex and Anderson. if he took Anderson form that would make me feel very emotional.

I think there should have been terminals and VI interfaces that Shepard had to look at to figure out the crucible instead of having this "god-like" being present it. But instead of it being the Vancouver kid that i didn't care about, it should've been a distorted VI-signal like Vigil on Illos. Its voice should have been more distorted as well.

Well, I think the catalyst should have been someone Shepard mourned his/her death. So the best option instead of the starbrat are:

- Virmire Casualty.
- Dead LI from ME3 (Thane, as well as Miranda and Tali if they were romanced and died on Rannoch and Sanctuary).

The Catalyst should of been all the dead squad mates and key dead characters standing behind the kid in the center all talking in a collective voice.

id rather have the catalyst have been a revolving image of people that have died while under my services. start with the VS, saren, maybe even throw in fist, sidonis, or other quick views of past deaths, THEN end with starchild.

even more so, i would have liked to sortof fight them as well. something visceral and imaginitave. anyone here kill vaas in farcry 3? yeah, something like that but with rotating dead characters.

Personally I'd like the Catalyst to look like a formless mass, ala Vigil from Ilos.

Of course I'd also like him to have six glowing yellow eyes as well.

Would have worked better if it changed into the kid followed by the various characters on your squad who have died during the trilogy, ending with the dead VS.

Or pretty much every member of your squad at various points.

I'd imagine the Catalyst to have a constantly shifting hologram, mostly through the forms of many people Shepard has known.

Or Avina or some other VI, Harbinger, a combination of your dead squadmates, etc. Hell it could have been a talking keeper too. Anything else that tied into the rest of the series rather than some random child that I had no emotional attachment to.

If I was gonna use the images of people Shepard has met...

Nihlus, Wrex, Anderson, Mordin, Ashley, Jack, Traynor.

And give each of 'em a different persona regarding the things they say.

He should have kept changing his appearance, taking on the forms of various dead characters to best guilt/manipulate Shepard into doing what he wanted. Maybe still start as the kid, but then start taking on the person of people like whoever died on virmire, Anderson, TIM, Shepard;s LI (even if they are still alive). Like, for example, turning into Legion to try and guilt Shepard if he/she is starting to lean towards picking destroy.

Best idea has been for the catalyst to change, like the images talking to Shepard in Leviathan, just without the watery darkness.

Should have started with a Leviathan, then morphed to VS, then anyone who died on Suicide Mission if anyone, then Mordin, Thane, Legion, Anderson and TIM - ending with Shepard.

Aside from the kid itself (for the reasons you gave, MCB), I would want:

1st choice: Virmire Casualty (whoever died on Virmire).
2nd choice: Saren.
3rd choice: TIM - free of indoctrination, showing the good that was in the man.
4th choice: Nihlus probably

This. Not only would it have played out better, it would have saved them money since they wouldn't have had to hire a third actor to do the voice (the Catalyst, if anyone was unaware, was voiced by the star child, Mark Meer and Jennifer Hale all at once). They could have played it as the catalyst saying something to the effect of: 'You couldn't save this human, but now you have the chance to save everyone,' and manipulate Shepard with slightly more believability than a random child would.

Of course, I still think that No Catalyst At All would have been better, but you know. That's not what the OP asked.

The Virmire Survivor, or play it out like Leviathan and have it take the various forms of characters that were killed over the course of the trilogy.
