Shouldn't this thread be in a "Spoilers allowed" section?
Anyway, what I would like the next Mass Effect game to be is a
RebootMy reboot plan:
1) Leave the entire franchise buried for 5 or 10 years. No new titles of
any kind. Better yet, wait for the next generation of consoles.
2) Assemble a totally new writing and direction team.
3) Plan ahead the entire new trilogy (or pentalogy, or saga...), avoiding stupid leaks.
4) Start the new saga with a remake of Mass Effect 1.
5) Deviate from ME2 and ME3. Make the Collectors and Cerberus a lesser
threat and make a new plot for the ending chapter of the saga.
Things I don't want to see in the new saga:
- The CatalyStalin or anything controlling the Reapers.
- The Crucible or any miraculous weapon popping out of nothing.
- Dark Energy stuff.
- DLCs, Add-ons, Collector's edition, exclusive content or any other crap like that. All players deserve the same game.
- Shepard dying, unless in a "Critical Mission Failure" or in a deserved bad ending like in ME2.
- Synthesis or Control endings. They just don't fit.
- Poorly handled romances like Thane, Jacob, Kelly, or charcters throwing themsleves into Shepard like Kaidan in ME3.
- Forced deaths of squadmates or ex-squadmates.
TL;DR:
Wait 5-10 years, give us a time, find better wrtiters, plan ahead, remove the bad things from the old series, bring back the good ones and start a new saga with a remake of ME1.
