Manta Turret:

Pop up a little turret similiar in animation to the N7 Demolisher's own supply pylon. Fires on its own, but will fire at virally effect targets for extra damage (30% extra). Fires a stream of rounds for 3 secs
Damage: 500 in 3 secs
Health: 250
Recharge 20 secs

Rank 1: Unlock
Rank 2: Damage Bonus + 10%
Rank 3: Health bonus +25%

Rank 4a: Damage increased by 10% (additionally)
Rank 4b: Duration of firing increased by 60%

Rank 5a: Defensive proximity: all damage taken reduced by 10% when in close proximity to turret.
Rank 5b: Health increased by 100%

Rank 6a: Arc Projector. Alongside the machinegun the turret is upgraded with an arc turret which does the damage amount of damage to shields/barriers as the turrets current output. Can jump to other targets but will only damage them by 5% of output. Primes.
Rank 6b: Firestorm Missile Battery: Self explanatory function. Damage armour equal to output of turret. Splash damage from current target 10% output within a 5m radius. Primes.

Viral Upload:

Infect a target with a virus which slows down target by 20% and reduces accuracy by 30%. No Damage purely a support skill and the actual "damage" this skill is indirect i.e the turret fires at the enemy targets marked. Viral targets are seen with a green tinge.

Duration 20 secs

Rank 1: Unlock
Rank 2: Damage Bonus + 5%
Rank 3: Recharge bonus 20%

Rank 4a: Rate of gestation decreased by 20%
Rank 4b: Damage increased by 20%

Rank 5a: Duration: time of effect increased by 100% recharge decreased by 30%
Rank 5b: Proximity infection: enemy targets within 5m radius decreases damage by 10%

Rank 6a: Viral Cascade: if target dies under effects spreads to 2 other targets. Turret will target closest enemy.
Rank 6b: Squad awareness: once used an area of 40m will be revealed other enemy targets will be seen for 30 secs.

Epic concept!
Reminds me of the Cerberus Engineer.

Love the turret.

Viral upload seems pretty useful.
Main trouble is, despite being a very useful ability, many less experienced players will probably skip since they'll wrongly assume it's useless.

Repair Matrix and turret have a great synergy.

Are we allowed any repeats? Because /me was a bit slow on the draw but could make some epic awakened collectors. If not then that's understanable, after all this thread is just about creating new characters for the ones that are missing. Anyway, I was able to get around to making this epic vanguard for you guys, hope you enjoy!


Alliance synthetic "Locust" Vanguard

Concept: Using micro mass effect generators wired throughout the unit, the locust is able to "create" it's own biotics through element zero manipulation in the same way an organic would. Except inctead of electricity from the nervous system of the brain, it uses electrical current generated from within it's body.

The Locust is an experimental, highly vicous synthetic. Using their biotics and robotic nature to their full and brutal advantadges, these unit's are truly feared on the battlefield, bringing in their lethal Locust gauntlets for which they are named, specially crafted combat knives that closely resemble needles on their right arms (not shown in picture :/) to drain the life from enemies in a similar fashion to the Geth Juggernaut. As well as even ripping apart their own body with biotics to move faster and reduce damage while closing in on a target. The Locust specializes on closing in on targets and swiftly destroying them before moving onto the next, hopping around the battlefield and leaving a swath of destruction behind it.

Special characteristics:

Heavy melee: replaced by Locust needle strike, the Locust unit strikes the enemy with their needle, healing them for a certian amount of shields. If the enemy struck is human sized, the Locust unit will instead lift them up with the arm that uses the needle and you can continuously hold the heavy melee button to asorb shields in the same fashion as the juggernaut melee (making the target unable to do anything). However for anything bigger the unit will do a standard strike. heavy melee restores 180 shields per second

Powers:

Phase Shift: Biotically destroy your robotic frame at the molecular level using rapidlly shifting mass effect fields, then suspend them around you in low mass effect field so you may reassemble yourself later. Doing this causes your form to scatter around you in mist like particles, making you nearly impossible to hurt with conventional weapons. you also drastically incrrease your speed, cannot attack, and gain a biotic teleportation technique. Using any attack during this mode will cause you to break out of the phase shift immediatly

Mechanics: for this mode your heavy melee is replaced by a biotic teleport in the direction you choose. I would have just put this on (insert you omni-button for dodge here) but the dash goes farther than a fury dodge and I din't want the omni-button making you teleport far away from someone you were trying to revive. Shields do not regen while in phase shift, you also become as resistant to stun as a juggernaut.

Rank 1: damage redutction 45% speed increase 20% biotic teleport distance 4M recharge speed 14 seconds (activates upon coming out of Phase shift)

Rank 2: increase damage reduction by 10%

rank 3:  increase teleportation distance by 1.5M

Rank 4: A. increase damage reduction by 15%

               B. gain 15% DR for 10 seconds upon coming out of phase shift

Rank 5: A.  weapon damage increased by 25% for 5 seconds after coming out of phase shift

               B. speed increased by an addtional 15%

Rank 6: A. fully disassemble yourself upon entering Phase Shift, increasing DR by 30%. however this means it will also take more time to reassemble yourself and you CANNOT attack (meaning if you try to attack you'll merely do nothing, not come out of phase shift) and coming out of phase shift take 2 seconds. teleportation distance increased 2M

                B. Melee damage increased by 40% for 5 seconds upon coming out of phase shift, killing an enemy within 3 seconds of coming out of phase shift has a 70% chance to reset your power timer.

Locust grenades: lob this grenade filled with self-replicating nanobots at the enemy and watch as the nanobots attack your enemy. the damage starts off low, but starts to get larger and larger as the nanobots replicate and there are more to attack the enemy, leading to large amounts of damage being dealt before the nanobots self-deactivate.

Rank 1:
can carry 1 grenade, radius 3M damage 30 per second, replication damage increase 20 per second for 5 seconds, duration 8 seconds

Rank 2:
increase initial damage per second to 35

Rank 3:
increase amount of grenades carried by 2

Rank 4: A. increase duration by 5 seconds

               B. increase replication damage increase to 40 per second

Rank 5: A. increase amount of grenades carried by 2

               B.increase radius by 2M

Rank 6:
A. nanobots sabotoge and corrode enemy weapons. decreasing afflicted enemy damage by 35% for dration of the power, weakens armor by 30%

               B. instead of self deactivating, the nanobots self destruct at the end of their duration, dealing 500 damage to each enemy afflicted

Well, there you have it, I know it's kind of convoluted, but I like it! This thign was a bit hellish to make so I sure hope you guys like it as much as I do, it's probably one of my most out there concepts I'll say that much. I really like all things I put in this character and how they come together.

This thread's first Biotic Robot is complete.

Phase Shift and Locust Grenades are both facinating concepts.
Sadly I can't comment on whether or not the stats are balanced (that is more Soja 57's department).

But the concepts are great.

The Phase Shift's mechanics add a new style of play.
Though I'm unclear about a few things.

When are you unable to do anything?
What can you and can't you do whilst mode is active?


The Locust Grenades are excellent. Nanobots that damage and sabotage enemies.
They are similiar to inferno grenades but with a more futuristic spin.

Your kit is more than good enough to be added.

You are unable to do anything while Phase shift is active (but without the last upgrade you'll merely come out of phase shift if you do anything, like with tactical cloak if you shoot/use a power)

You cannot do ANYTHING except move and use phase shifts teleportation while Phase shift is active, that's the whole point, you gain massive DR and speed, but you cannot attack in any way shape or form while still remaining in phase shift

You can drop my reservation for the Rachni engineer, I only really had ideas for a sentinel (and to feel like I'm not just trying to imperialize this thread with reservations, though now we have more than enough with the mercenaries.)

Cancelling reservation of Raloi Infiltrator in favor of a Raloi Engineer. Creating in Engineer is more versatile than an Infiltrator, as the latter class is somewhat restricted to having some type of cloaking power (Tactical Cloak, Predator Camouflage from Ultimate Pheer's Volus Predator Infiltrator, etc.).

Raloi zealots were members of the early resistance that sparked the Turvessian Revolution. Cooldown begins only after recovering the disc, and disc automatically returns if not recalled after a few seconds. Can detonate tech combos.

Primes any affected enemy for a cryo explosion.

Damage = 500 (1.5x multiplier vs armor, barriers, and shields)

Damage Per Second = 250 damage per second
Chakram Radius = 1 meters (placed 2 meters away from character, for a maximum range of 3 meters)

Fitness Tree (Uses the same Fitness tree as Female Quarians, Asari, Salarian, and Volus classes)
