It's a vicious cycle of people wanting what they can't have.
Good old Mass Effect forums.
All I ask is that people have some moderation in what they wish for. People hated the Mako; now we don’t have a Mako. People hated the inventory system; so now we don’t have an inventory. The last thing I want in ME3 is my Shepard walking into an awkward conversation with Wrex Jr. and having to explain that I do not, in fact, want him four-balls-deep in me.
Krogans have big hands, and they try to be gentle... but... well, you know.
Still, to clarify, I do love Tali - She's like a little sister with a cloaca.

Oh and T1l, if you have an issue with something I say to you, go ahead and say so. No need to send me private hate-mail and then block me so that I cannot respond.

Tali romance was already a popular topic of debate back in June of 2007; it hasn't gone away since. It is not about what is currently the cool thing to want on the forums. It is about people being drawn to a character they like. If anything, it is a compliment to the writers and designers of ME.T1l wrote...
Tali, despite needing some lore-bending, will no doubt become romancable in ME2 simply due to the outcry of people wanting it. Still, the only reason people want it so badly is because it's become the cool thing to want on the forums; like male/male female/female relationships. The worst part is that when people DO actually get tali-mance, and they likely will, they'll be over it in a month. The ME IP will have been re-written (to a certain extent) to include Human/Quarian romance so it doesn't look like a freak-show and what will we have for it? About a month of forum peace before people cling on to the next thing for ME3; Krogans, probably, or Turians.

There is no lore bending necessary for a Tali romance to work. It just shows you're not well informed concerning the lore. Did you read the books, for example?
A Turian romance has also been a popular forum topic since the early months of the ME forums. I mean, have you seen the Garrus Love threads?
I think you have a very cynical outlook on human nature and it is sad to see you externalizing and generalizing your view in this manner. I'll be quite pleased if there is a Tali romance this time around. Hell, I've been asking for it since 2007. For ME3 I'll be asking for a continuation of that romance story and for BioWare to change or fix the things I don't like about ME2. I don't see what is so bad about that.

Yup, I've been participating in the interest for tali since the original Tali LOVE thread waaaaaaay back then, and now its become Tali LOVE 8-9, with each well over a hundred pages.
And as other's said, I love Tali because she's interesting, has one of the best personalities anywhere, a sexy voice , and well, the hips DO give her a +1
I never really found any of the other LIs, Ash and Liara for me, to be interesting at all -- one was too rough and tough, and one just practically threw herself on me
But Tali is on a whole different level compared to them <3<3

I'll be a Tali fan 'til the day I die, no matter what.
And I loved the Mako (i just wish it had been upgradeable) and the inventory system (i just wish there had been an omni-gel all feature).
There's a difference between wanting a romance with a character and ruining the game's best features.
What I really hate is how a big thing anti-Talimance people spout off about is that "she's like a sister I don't want her to be a romance/ME2 is just turning into a romance sim". News flash, it's called a romance OPTION for a reason, if you think of Tali as a sister, ok don't romance her! Nobody's forcin' ya! But for us people that do love her, we want that option!

I honestly thought I'd be an odd one out when I wished I could romance Tali. Quite the contrary when I came to the ME forums a few years back.
Tali support is HUGE, and has been for a very, VERY long time.
I also thought i'd be an odd one for wanting Tali to simply come back, then when i signed back on...
I was like holy f***,I'm not the only one who wants Tali.
Where I live ME doesn't seem to be all that big,the pre-orders sold out,but i went to the comic store yesterday, and they had many copies of redemption. And only like 2 ppl on my xbox live list even play it lol...
The site was a much needed boost for me and ME.

Well you can still that romance from ME1 in ME2 so they don;t have to be squad members; but the new ones yes. I think tali is all but confirmed at this point but the truth will be known on the 26th or shortly there after.Xena_Shepard wrote...
If you're gonna be like that TOO, then why don't we get continued Liara/Ashley/etc romance?
LIs have to be squadmates.

They aren't technically LIs though, you can't actually romance them, since they've already been romanced (if you did in ME1).
Besides Casey Hudson said characters from ME1 that weren't romanceable already, Anderson and Chakwas have already been disproven for anybody that brings that up, you can count out Ashley/Kaiden/Liara since they were romanceable, you can also count out Wrex since he's killable, Joker has the ship, leaving Garrus and Tali who are the only two returning squadmates anyways.
So it's pretty clear cut, we have our Talimance.

Squadmates are the only ones that can be LIs, the rest are flings, like the Consort or Kelly Chambers.
I mean people thought Kelly would be an LI til she was confirmed as just a fling, and she's even like a psuedo-squadmate!

Hmmm.... as much as I think Tali is a nice character, I was never that interested that way, although I was curious when I went through my 1st playthrough about whether I could romance Tali. Seems I was wrong, and the fact that they have those enviro-suits and their low immunity to disease ... well... pretty much sealed the deal that it was never going to happen.
But hey, we will all find out in 1 week! Or... 1 week 4 days and 4 hours for us outside NA
*Sigh* do we need to get into that argument again? That has been shot down hundreds of times now.
Quarians can safely take off their suits in sterile environments without risk of catching anything. The Normandy by default is a very sterile place, being an air-tight space-ship...I mean you go through decon when you get on.
