Excerpt from Giant Bomb interview (http://www.giantbomb.com/podcast/ 24 minutes in):
"Two characters that we designed that didn't have to be love interests, we had a huge amount of feedback that people wanted them to be love interests . . . Garrus is one of the top . . . requested love interests and the other one is Tali . . . we didn't even intend those, in fact, the writers were worried that she's got chicken feet . . . people aren't going to be interested in her as a love interest. So we weren't expecting it. But they were. Those characters obviously work that way, even though they weren't meant to."

If I'm listening correctly, they then confirm Tali as an LI, and I believe they also confirm that she will NOT remove her mask.

He's probably speaking of Mass Effect 1, but Tali never had a relationship with you that would have ever led to the scenario he describes.  So to me, it sounded like he was referring to ME2 when he said that.

Well part 3 of the Casey interview had him asked "Will we see Tali out of her mask" as the first question he said.

"I won't spoil it."

Also, may I add that Mark Meer has really stepped up his game for his VA work. Him calling out to Tali is more meotional than anything he did in the first game. His speech during the trailer was really good too.

Since they pull a gun on him in the Normandy, I presume you can have them both.

I follow Giant Bomb very closely and I can tell you for sure that the interviewer (Vinny) is talking about ME1. With 'relationship' he is talking about the relationship (non-romantic) that you have with Tali and he always expected or hoped that it would evolve into a romance (in another podcast he stated that he wanted to romance Tali). And who can blame him?

Yes but an interview when they've already played the game would be pointless for both parties as it'd be much easier for the interviewer to simply post a review and post some vague comments like "Tali fans will be happy"(okay more vague than that) but yeah, I get your point. I'm just trying to be optimistic though since I want to see Tali finally. =P

Why is it that when I read "machines" my mind skipped over robots to mundane objects like toasters and coffee machines?
