We've got plenty of reviews that mention Tali.

But we're in a weird "Doubting Thomas" state where some posters will deny Tali is a romance option unless they see her disrobing in the game in front of them.

I must say im not even gone for 24 hours and some Tali comment comes out. I will say now that my hope went from 90% to 95% It's nice but unless someone says Tali romance is there I won't go 100%. heres to hoping though!

Really excited about the Talimance. But still, I'd wish it was an option for FemSheps too. I hate playing with MaleShep.

This^ only my hatred of maleshep is strong enough that even if only 10% of the game content was accessible to Femshep I still wouldn't play him.

It would be nice if Tali were an option for Fem Sheps, even for a "very close friendship" like Morrigan was in DA. I prefer female Shepherd as the voice acting, to me personally, is just so much more powerful, especially in dramatic situations. Here is at least for a "sisterhood" option!

It is really a testament to the strength of Bioware's writers that they can create characters that evoke such attachment.  Baldurs Gate had so many of those, from Viconia to the always lovable Edwin.  Mass Effect has quite a few, Tali being the focus of this thread.  When Dragon Age first come out you couldn't read the forums without seeing a billion threads about loving/hating/killing/marrying Morrigan (it helps that Claudia Black was the voice). 

Whatever happens in ME 2, I am sure it will live up to the tradition of Bioware's story driven focus.  All the BW teams, from DA to ME and any other secret projects should be proud of themselves when this game sells well!
