It turns out the disk split works like this:

Tali, samara, Legion, and Thane are all on Disk 2. You have to recruit the others first.

I call BS on this btw. In many game play video's you see Thane standing next to Shepard while you are recruiting Subject Zero. By that clear evidence, you do not have to recruit the others first.

Not to be taken as gospel, maybe there is a squadmate or two you have to recruit first, but Subject Zero is not one of those squad members for certain.

Proof: http://masseffect.bi.../media/videos/3, the Subject Zero video at time 1:02 - You can clearly see Thane standing to the left of the screen. If he was as recruitment option you had to wait until after you got whoever is on Disc 1 then he would not be there, at least if the information quoted above is any kind of accurate, which given my post it most assuredly isn't.

I imagine there are some options as to who you can recruit. Bioware isn't known for putting games on "rails", so to speak. This isn't Final Fantasy, after all!



Anyway, the picture I posted, despite being a joke, shows Tali and Shepherd pretty close together. I usually don't stare at my friend's faces that close...

During a conversation with Tali, Shepard finds out she has a fever. He is surprised she can still get sick even through her suit and asks if/when she removes it. She says the suit is never really removed, but that it's environment can be linked with that of another Quarian's suit. The two get sick initially, but they fight through it together. It's a sign of love and trust. Shepard asks if she has ever loved anyone that way. She says something like "yes...no...well...not another Quarian...I mean...you know..." and she gets really shy/embarrassed. Shepard has the option to say "It's okay Tali...I feel the same about you," which makes her even more embarrassed. Shepard says something like "I don't want to pressure you...blah blah blah"
