Just thought of this for some reason.  I think it would work.  I just made Alistair a DW warrior recently so why not Sten.

I'm pretty sure I'd run him with Alistair as a S&B warrior but I haven't thought though what the other two slots are.  Well take that back if I'm the Tank then I don't need Alistair.   Hmmmm.Posted Image

What are the possibilities?

It could work. He starts out set for two handing, but you could either accept the loss in skill points or use a mod to re-focus him. If refocused he would almost certainly excel at dual wielding.

The only thing I'd add is that his "inspiration" boost is to STR, so you might want to take advantage of that for the STR-dual-dagger (or dual sword/axe/etc) build or else keep his STR low and let the "inspiration" boost get him to the STR he'll need for the best low-STR armor. Not sure how much the boost ends up being by the 100-approval point.

Come to think of it, that might look cool having the big giant doing those backstab and slash moves.

I did it on one of my warden files and he was pretty successful it just starts off slow unless you have the option to respec him.

It is a pity that the console version doesn't have respec tomes. Full customization of companion specs, skills, stats, and talents would have enriched playthroughs in such a great way for DAO. Adding those tomes to a DLC would have done wonders, especially if I wanted to optimize an archer build for zevran, a S&S build for oghren, etc...
