 I was curious..

Do you BSNers usually go with the grain, as far as equip?
Or do you try to round your characters out??
That is; if you play a Krogan or Batarian, do you put on gear/equip tp boost their melee/strengths? Or to compensate for any weakness(mobility)?
Or if you play a squishy class (Drell, human, Salarian) do you give them gear to make them hit harder or be more resilient?

I almost always go for balance myself...
^_^

I always try to maximize strengths. Why try to make the character something it's not?

I agree, know your strengths and your limits.  Pick your gunfights and avoid situations you know you can't handle instead of hoping the compensation you have made will hold up.  I put a adrenaline on a drell cuz I want him to be fast and put cyclonic on tanks cuz I want them to tank.

What if I didn't want to swim upstream because that stream is mainstream so therefor swimming downstream is not mainstream unlike swimming upstream which is mainstream.

I prefer swimming underground. I'd show you, but then it'd be the main stream and I can't have that happening.

But do you swim the mainstream underground stream or the downstream mainstream stream or the upstream mainstream stream?

Why try to make the character something it's not?

It's called "balance" - jack of all trades vs crippling overspecialisation.

The thing is would you rather use a Cyclonic on a GI or a Power Amp?

Cyclonic all day. Jack of all trades>Master of one.

Although I would agree with say, a Turian Sentinel by adding Adrenaline III, I would also disagree. Mainly by using a Drell with Adrenaline III.

I swim backwards through the underground upstream stream which counteracts the mainstreamness of it.

The jack of all trades works for some classes, it doesn't work for others eg. drell

And Drell+Adrenaline 3+30 FPS Ecks Bawks AI=Unhittable force of nature. :P

If power amps were actually worth anything at all on the GI then sure. But why would I take a Power Amp? For Proxy Mine? Better example plz.

Specialization in video games is almost always > "well rounded" characters. Look at Pokemon, the ones that get used the most are the ones with significant stat and typing advantages over others. You get glass cannon builds as well as tanky ones, but you don't try to mix a tank build with a glass cannon build because then you just get a worthless 'mon.

I think we tore a hole in the space-time continuum.

But what about Scizor, good defensive typing (except against fire) and he hits like a truck with CB Bullet punch

And the really good, glass cannon sweepers require setting up/removing threats or else they will kill 2 other pokes and then they'll just get revenge killed.

I played pokemon competively for 2.5 years bish.

Speed on slow characters is more useful in this game than Cyclonics on Drell due to how Cyclonics work. So, an Adrenaline 3 is useful on any character, and certainly more useful to a Drell than a Cyclonic. But to say, a GI or a Juggy, Adrenaline 3 can still be quite useful with either super speed or strong shields for the GI, or super duper shields for the Juggy or decent speed.
