I all need some help sorting out something that is driving me crazy. Both my wife and I play DA and we each have our own copies to spare arguments. I'm running one non a desktop and she has hers on her laptop.

My desktop is:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+ 2.32 GHz

2.0 GB RAM

Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium Edition, 32-bit (Build Service Pack 26002)
ATI Radeon HD 2400 series

Wife's laptop
Acer Aspire 6530g
AMD Turion X2 dual-core mobile technology RM-72 (2.1 GHz, 800MHz FSB, 1MB L2 Cache),

4GB DDR2 (2*2GB RAM)

Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium Edition, 32-bit
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 512MB


Got the games for christmas and they have been playing fine on
both systems however we have noticed that loading time were getting
progessively longer. After many a night sat up playing loading could
take anywhere between 2-5 minutes. It was more noticable towards the
latter sections of the game and we both assumed it was extra scripting
etc that needed loading. Thats beside the point as I know that issue is already being looked at.

However yesturday my wifes laptop had
a 'vital windows update' and since her game has become unplayable.
Sound stutters and crackles, voice files fire atop each other and her
frame rate is at times worse than 1 screen every couple of seconds.

I have updated all drivers I could locate and even gave the bios a flash which to all intents and purposes has made the laptop quite fuctional but I cannot solve the issue with DA. I've scoured this forum, GameFAQs, and many other websites looking for a solution. I have twiddle sound play back, tweaked graphics acceleration, turned off cores and sweat blood and tears to get the game back to how it was two days ago and what I really need is Sandal to come and work his stuff on the blighted machine.

While waiting for him if anyone has any ideas I'm happy to try them, hell I'll even throw on a dress and shimmy across the keyboard if you think it'll work.

yeah I think I saw most of those looking for a solution. I'll post some details in the report and hope it helps.
