Too loose. Too many people fall under higher categories. I'd consider myself a 9 in that regard, but I doubt I'm as good as many of the "top players"your-friendly-noggin wrote...
here is how I would scale it personally:
1-Just started playing and gets downed a lot in bronze.
2-confident bronze player, can maybe solo with a great build.
3-can solo bronze with any kit
4-silver newbie
5-confident silver player
6-again can solo silver with any kit
here is where it gets odd in my mind, because the playerbase gets a bit blurred with gold and platinum. Also once you can solo silver with any kit you are pretty much gold ready imo.
7-confident gold player, can almost solo gold and can carry most gold teams.
8-confident gold solo player and ok platinum player, but not with all kits.
9-confident platinum player, can solo gold with any kits and can solo platinum with their favourite kits.
10-platinum solo player, any kit, any map, any level character and any weapon. Can carry any team.
Versatility boosts players up, the best infiltrator might not be great with adepts.
I'd say I'm just scraping a 7

In all seriousness though, I wouldn't give Jay a 10 for ME3MP. Manual dexterity maybe, but not ME3MP. He pretty much just gets by with his headshots. I'd put Stentron and xcal at 10, they know how to play anything and kill everything.
Well, manual dexterity is a part of ME3MP though. So if that part alone makes him better than someone with a more extensive knowledge of the game well... Good for him I guess. It means that manual dexterity is more important than game knowledge in this game, to a certain extent. He's still a better player even though it's only because of that, in my opinion.
That said, I was simply saying that the OP needs to provide two fixed points, otherwise nothing has meaning here.
If 10 is Jay or Stentron, not much changes to be honest. What I'd like to know is what is the other point.
Well when Team Tron was doing the 1M point challenge, Stentron kept up with Jay at about 350K, Lord Sirian had about 250K and RedJohn was on like 150. If he has the smarts to keep up with a human aimbot, that says a lot about him.

So , atm, I'd say that I'm roughly a 7 (just above average).
Just sloppy due to lack of recent playtime.
In my prime.. hmm..
I guess I'd have to say about 8-9 (pretty good). Why?
I believe that I'm competent with several kits in each class, and a variety of weapons. And at all ranges.
I help with all objectives, even if that means off to draw aggro, or to take out enemies that will put it in peril.
Generally have a good situation awareness, with a eye for target priority.
Semi-decent knowledge of spawns and enemy behaviour/patterns
Have a decent aim, and consider myself a fairly proficient killer.
My negatives
Can occaisionally slip into tunnel vision.
Not particulalry chatty, and sometimes forget to call out enemies that are danger close.. to much time spent in the PuG life, I guess.
I tend to get derailed by lolz a bit more than I should.
I seem to be very stingy with my nukes compared to the few BSNrs I've played with.
I've tried.. but I'm not a good Krogan... for shame.
I almost never go for 'optimal builds/loadouts', I use what I use the way I like to, even if it's not the best way.
Think I covered everything.
