I always save the arena for after completing the game myself. Some of the meetups work as well, as a few seem to be independent of any time frame, like the one with Cortez, non-romance Jack and Tali.

Arenas count as missions in a way, that unlock meetups, so I do an arena match (to fit a mission for it), then check mail and meet with people, then arena, etc. Once that's all done, I trigger the party and head off into the inevitable.

I sometimes just space this out over Thessia-Sanctuary-maybeLeviathan. Altogether it adds up into a story arc of its own (Citadel+Leviathan+Thessia+Sanctuary+Cronos), instead of a more bareboned 2-3 mission thing towards the ending.

I spend too much time trying to beat the N7 mirror match to keep the now useless weapons training sharp. Gotta stay prepared for the next robot apocalypse.

Yes, the Turian Platoon mission is available until the completion of Priority:Thessia, where it will then disappear from your journal. This means you can save it and it's follow up mission, Turian Bomb, until after you finish Rannoch. This isnt something well known because most people do the Turian Platoon mission before Priority:Tuchanka, which means they then have to do the Turian Bomb mission asap because its timed.

To unlock Priority:Tuchanka you need to either do the Turian Platoon mission or the Rachni mission, the other one can be saved until after Rannoch since Tali has special dialogue for both. I remember pre-ME3 launch someone from Bioware saying to do exactly this. I prefer saving the Turian missions until after Rannoch since it brings back memories of Virmire between Shepard and the VS. Tali on the Rachni mission is still a must see though.
