Lord A., surely that would happen right after we find out he is secretly a Turian prince, whose father was the twin of who he thinks is his real father, because his old butler started to follow the squad and hide in trash cans to shout: " Your majesty, there are enemies over there!", all the time, while Garrus is sneaking up on them.

That would actually be pretty funny (even if it doesn't fit you original DA:O idea).

Hmm...I actually wouldn't want Garrus to be a secret "prince-type." Part of his appeal is his background, I think.

Yeah you're right, but I hope what I wrote came across as the joke it was intended to be.

While the image of the annoying butler is kinda fun, the sheer clichè of Garrus being some royal would probably kill me.

Agreed. That Garrus is the son of an accomplished C-Sec officer is enough (and more believable).

Don't worry, I did figure you were joking, but I did want to make note of it that I at least wouldn't want it if it were true. XD

I would LOVE to meet papa-Vakarian (what a number of us have dubbed him for now, until we learn his name ;p). Especially to see his reactions to us, what with Shep being a Spectre ("No offense, commander, but he wouldn't like you") and Garrus as an ex C-Sec officer ("He's taken my resignation pretty hard"). I wonder how tense such a meeting would be? I guess it depends on if they're estranged or if his father is just concerned/disappointed. Regardless, I want to know!

That "No offense" comment from him was pure evil, instantly brings a relationship and the whole meet the parents situation to mind. Shame on you Garrus, you tease.

I can't find the source for the rumor I posted, but another portion of it was that Thane's and Garrus's achievements had accidentally been switched on the list - hence, Garrus's is actually "Cat's in the Cradle." The person was heavily insinuating that the reason Garrus isn't romanceable is that he still has so many issues to work through about his dad and isn't ready for a relationship.



Again, take this all with a heaping helping of salt. With luck, he'll have the "meet Garrus's dad" part right and the "not a LI" part wrong.

I think that Garrus and his father are on good terms, since Garrus spoke to him about his resignation.

But could this mean that Garrus is, in fact, a "talk it out" option? It sounds like the characters have at least discussed their relationship to me, from what you've said. I dunno, maybe I'm being too optimistic.

And CurrentlyUnknown, no disrespect intended whatsoever (so please don't take it that way) but I will wait until I get my hands on the guide or learn from an official source as to Garrus' status regarding being an LI or not. I do hope that we meet papa-Vakarian, though. I think I might like him...by virtue of him being Garrus' father alone, even if he'd be a mean sob to me. XD



And I'd like to meet mama-Vakarian, too...I wonder if she's still alive. Garrus never mentioned her. I wonder if it's because it's a cultural thing or if it's because she passed away.

Actually, scratch all that: someone just posted the achievement list on Xbox.com, and Garrus' is still listed as "Fade Away".

So yeah, nevermind, looks like the guy was full of it after all, unless Xbox.com has their acheivements mixed up, which I doubt.

EDIT: If, Garrus is a LI, I would love to see a scene between Garrus and his father, I don't think it will be a friendly introduction in my opinion.

No, this was something I read just an hour or two ago.  I think it was from one of the articles.  Hold on, still searching... (Gah, these forums have no search function worth speaking of.  My one primary complaint about the Social Site...)

I know what you mean, I heard his voice with the exact inflections as well.  If you've gone batty, so have I. XD

Cat in the Cradle is Thane's achievement. It also is a song about a father and a son. So it might well mean Thane has a kid, just like Garrus' achievement 'Fade Away' means he may die from whatever's plaguing him (all those rumors about him being ill).

It just made sense. If the achievements were mixed up, that would mean Thane's was "Fade Away," which makes a lot more sense after part 2 f the Sci vs. Fi video. And Garrus' problems with his father fit the song quite well. But it seems there wasn't a mistake, so it doesn't really matter.

It's like Romeo and Juliet in outer-space. XD
