Okay, Thane's name isn't dropped directly and this is info someone's posted after reading a mag article. So...it isn't definitive, and is assuming this person was telling the truth (I see no indication that they aren't), but I think there's enough supporting evidence that this is true between the achievement and this tidbit:

Think of it, though. They wouldn't give Samara to JUST the females. There would be a massive outrage among male fans. Let's think good thoughts. Maybe Tali's a "talk it out," too? It's possible that the relationships grow in this one and culminate in the third? Right? RIGHT!?

Calla, the worst case scenario in my mind is that they foot Samara under FemShep's 3 LI options, but she's still bisexual and available for men. AND give them Tali. Bleh.

CaseyH-ME2: For Guest9A: You'll have a lot more options for love interests this time around. Some of the male love interests are Jacob Taylor of course, the exotic Thane, and some other surprises I wouldn't want to spoil

CaseyH-ME2: To Guest-183: There were no female / female romances in ME1, same with ME2. Most people count Tali[sic], but her species is female-looking but asexual. Female shepards (and males) will have 3 possible love interests (if I count correctly!)

I believe Casey may have been mistaken with the 3-LI thing, especially due to his wording in that first answer. You'll notice that he made some other mistakes as well with his second answer.

I don't mind surprises if they aren't paired up with something that I've been waiting for, for what seems like forever.

I really want to know if Garrus is a love interest. I know I'll most likely do another playthrough so I can pair up with Thane, buuuuut I would feel guilty.

I'm thinking of the big picture here. I'm thinking of the third game. I want Garrus all the way to the end, but then again it would be nice to have Thane up to that point as well. I have 2 final saves and I forgot which one is which, because I accidentally slept with Liara and I don't want to hear her mouth in the 3rd game about me cheating on her. Of course it's not cheating if it wasn't a relationship in the first place.

Of course I also wanted Wrex as a LI. I really bonded with him and Garrus.

All I know is this will turn out to me Dragon Age all over again. I wanted Alistair(lost out on him the first time around), then I fell head over heels for Zevran. Then in my second playthrough when I was romancing Alistair and Zevran mentioned his interst I felt guilty for not having picked him, even though he wasn't initially my first choice. So I started a 3rd character for Zevran, exclusively.

So I'm hoping that Garrus doesn't turn into the Alistair, because I know Thane is already Zevran in my eyes. I just have to keep reminding myself why and how I fell in love with Garrus in the first place. It was literally love at first snipe.

Also, Cedardryad, don't feel bad about the LI thing. I think BW is going to make initiating them more clear than last time around, at least that's the sense I've gotten. Also, some are more difficult to romance than others. ^^
