Agreed Rhapsody.

It's amazing that they were able to make him even more badass. I thought that was impossible :P.

But maybe we can do something about it..if you have seen the name of the achievement for 'gaining the Archangels loyalty' you might know what I'm talking about.

Only 2 more days...and I have refused to see any dialogue or videos with Garrus and fem.shep, but it's so hard..

Oh, it'll be worth it.  He's such a sweetie, you'll be glad you waited.

*sigh* I have no access to either console or gaming PC while studying abroad, so unless I want to wait for six months (which I'm incapable of doing), it's spoileriffic time for me. Though I've been good about not spoiling the main quest, and only spoiling stuff that I'm either not going to play (romances for MaleShep) or Garrus-related goodness. The Garrus is irresistable.

You don't have access to anything? Ouch, that's horrible. :(

But yeah, I can't wait to see how their relationship evolves in ME3. ^^ I'm excited to see a more realistic relationship progression in a video game, and I'm especially glad it's with Garrus (because he's my fave, of course).

And that's what is so great about Garrus, the fact that he's a total badass yet so sweet and awkward at times.

I've heard some things here on the forums, so I'm a little bit spoiled, but I don't care..

I think it was you Eradyn who described, in a post way ealier, your thoughts on the romance, and the natural pace in Garrus/fem.shep's relationship, I think you called it 'a young romance'

that made me aww and got me even more excited about the game.. :D

Yep, that was it. :D Theirs is a "young romance."  They care deeply for each other (Garrus certainly must care VERY deeply for Shepard considering he's willing to have an intimate cross-species relationship with her) and are coming to love the other person.  The whole situation is just so endearing.

Don't worry, I saved the entire text portion of the guest star chat. C: I was gonna try midnight launch tonight, but I'm so tired. D; I hope Garrus can wait until after biology tomorrow...

Congrats on your car, Eradyn!!

(Ashley here!)

Ashley! \\\\:D/ Thanks, I'm very relieved with the car.  Now here's hoping it survives the drive to Gamestop and then back again. XD

I feel for you, having biology tomorrow...I wouldn't have the discipline to wait. :3  Hanful of years back I even skipped class just to pick up my PS3 on launch day...not that I had tests or something to complete. ^^;

And yay! So glad you saved the text.  It was...very amusing in the chat. X3

You mean me singing and you girls trying to tape a porno? >:P

And that's so nice, I don't care if there is or isn't a sex-scene, this sounds much more romantic and lovely.. I'm a sucker for that kind of romance :D

Why does my posting system not function properly. I can't quote or edit and only post quick replies.. :(

I want a space wedding in ME3! D; Also, that thing we're talking about might not happen if you take a different course of action. They were focusing on Renegade Shephards.

And I'm going paragon...c",) I might be a bit more renegade, but I just can't stop myself from being paragon..I feel guilty when I'm trying the more "evil" route in any RPG game.

But honestly I don't think you can prevent it, It's a really huge thing, and I think there's a meaning behind it, so it would be weird if it only happened during specific play-throughs.

Or at least, one with Liara/Tali. Image IPB You girls can keep Garrus. I reckon he's spoilt for choice as it is. Image IPB

I've basically been neutral to Garrus since I started playing ME1, and I never really gave him much time. But I saw the leaked videos and I completely changed my view on him.

Ah well, I get ME2 this Friday (well, I have it now, I just can't preload it until Steam say so) so yeah. I want to be a Garrus fan :(

Hmm, I've just thought of something that's true for all of the alien romance options in ME2. They are all under considerable "distress" for lack of a better way of putting it. All very much people who desperately need someone to turn to for help, or is that just me? Someone earlier was worried that the Garrus romance might just be a "friends with benefits" thing and that all these romances might just be flings, but I don't think that's the case. "Desperately needing help" and "turning to the only person who can offer it" is a way to establish a legitimate non-fling romance that doesn't HAVE to be permanent. Such a romance might be forced to end but it will still have been very "real" and "genuine." Do you see what I think the devs are doing here? Killing two birds with one stone. Some people may not be happy with this, but I think it's a great way to stay true to these already realized characters, Bioware's vision for the trilogy as a whole, and the demands of fans. I think it will be very interesting...and does anyone else desperately want to give Garrus a hug? I think he needs one pretty bad.

Oh, and I'm having problems posting full replies too, dirtsa90. Maybe it's a bug with the forum system?

I think it's less guilt and more a lack of achievement. In the renegade path, you get the job done, sure, but in the end you helped no one and achieved nothing that would improve the situation. Especially not for yourself.

That's what a Paragon Shepard teaches Garrus in the first game. If he isn't ready to do the right thing to protect someone, even to let someone go as in the case of Saleon or Balak, he doesn't deserve to protect them at all. No protector willingly allows their subjects to die.

[!!!!Minor Spoiler!!!!]

Garrus even admits to Shepard in the game that she is the only person he respects in the whole galaxy. They have a "friends with benefits"-attitude going on in the beginning of the romance which probably stemmed from the fact that Garrus was very unsure and nervous (and that Shepard was either equally nervous or just testing Garrus), like treading on foreign and alien ground. One misstep and he could be the worse for it, while on the other hand, exploration could bring him both peace and joy.

And you know, they call it a "romance", not a fling. If you go down that path with Garrus, he'll stick by you to the end. He's like that, all Turian-y and loyal. Especially so to you, to Shepard.

Argh, I'm so mad. This last week I've made a perfect Shepard and was getting her to level 60. What happens at the end? I need 2000 xp to get there by the time the game ends. >_<

So, after some cursing and everything I've decided to not even bother with another run and to just export my level 59 Shepard.

I won't spoiler it, because I see no real need to. But what I liked was they've thought about it and it doesn't make sense for humans to be 100% compatible with other species. The dialogue with Mordin was something I never actually expected to see in the game, but I'm glad they did because it adds so much more realism to it.

There might be some truth in that, but I actually do feel guilty..

What's the difference between the paragon and the renegade dialogue you get from Garrus in the end of ME?

I actually think I might have turned him more renegade by accident.. :-s

Paragon: He goes back to C-Sec ("I think I can really make a difference there") before applying for Spectre training.

Renegade: He just applies for Spectre training.

The Renegade path essentially turns him into something very reminiscent of Saren; someone who is willing to do anything to get the job done. Where as the Paragon version is willing to try and find the best solution to a problem, not just the easiest or fastest one.

"Caught in a bad romance but i don't wanna to be friends olala"...this song just poped up in my head while reading these last few posts xD.

I hope that Bioware won't take Garrus away from us in any kind of way(ME3). That would be so cruel...and heartbreaking...>sob<

Right, and risk the wrath of an angry horde of fangirls descending upon their studio like the vengeful hand of god? :P
