So, here's my predicament:

I'm afraid that I'll get into it with Thane because Garrus might not be an option. Of course as soon as I get attached to Thane Garrus will come along and will be a LI. I'll feel so guilty. This whole time I was saving my character for Garrus and then I'll feel like a traitor.



Then there is the situation where I blow off Than for Garrus and Garrus is still not a LI.

And that, my friend, is why I'm making a completely new Shepard specifically for Thane after I get my Garrus lovin' along with the extras that come with a highly leveled character. Because it's totally going to happen.

*sighs* Unfortunately, I don't think Bioware will give M-Sheps the "bromance" option with Garrus. A rather haphazard forum topic elsewhere quoted a Dev back in September as stating there aren't any M/M or F/F relationship choices because of a lack of time (doubtless the team is super busy, god knows what the scheduling hell must be like over at Bioware)



But, if Garrus is a fem-shep option, even a "talk it out" one...I'll totally play through ME1 again and perfect a Fem-Shep JUST to have that heart-to-heart with our favorite Turian.

Man, you fangirls sure know your turians, lol. Here's hoping you ladies are able to get your inner Kirk on. On a sadder note if there are indeed only 3 romances for each gender, two of which are known, you ladies are competing against the f/f group and its sad that one dedicated Bioware group will lose out.

Happily I can say that I was later reminded that Casey said not to quote him on the 3 LI limit thing. He said there might be more and he might be mistaken. So don't lose hope! And even if it's 3, that still leaves one unannounced slot (Thane and Jacob for the first two).



As for me, to answer my own question, I'd have to say my least favorite was the ERC guard that was ready to snap my neck. For obvious reasons, I think. And to answer someone else's question as to why on Palaven I would ask such a question in the first place...well...it's so easy to say who we love (every turian, duh XD), but it's harder when you have to start prioritizing and saying who you like least.



But even though that ERC guard on Noveria is my least favorite, I still like him.

Heheh...I've been tempted to create a male Shep, but...I can't even get all my femShep games finished! ^^; Too busy with collecting and compiling ME/Garrus info and writing fanfics. XD Hmmm...Guess I should start focusing on my game files now... Don't want to miss out on the transfer!

I've been finishing up my final playthrough (*tear*), and... I'm starting to think I may just be reading way too much into Garrus' dialogue. Or not. I hope not.

I was on Noveria, with Kaidan and Garrus on my squad, and I kept clicking on him (don't look at me like that). The second thing he said was something like, "Watch out, Shepard," with another little warning tacked on. But he sounded so concerned. While Kaidan was standing there, talking about the furnishings. I love the guy, but really? Really? That, along with all of the things our beloved turian often says, it's just so hard to ignore the fact that he holds some kind of torch for her. >.>

Garrus is a protector/guardian-type. If anyone would have Shep's back, it's him; turians don't abandon their team. Which would make for a very, very adorable relationship with him. <3

This is a great thread, it has almost everything about Garrus. It's about the only romance thread I've ever posted in. I think I'm going to import my female Shepard Vanguard in order to romance Garrus if he's romanceable. Lol I'm going to cheat on Kaidan.

Garrus is worth it.  Have you seen how much he's bulked up?! And that sexy-as-sin voice...*nods* Had I gone through with any of the romances in ME1 (I didn't, just sayin'), I'd cheat, too. 


I also want to make a note to everyone...if I've missed any Garrus-related stuff, just let me know and I'll update the OP. ^^ Don't want anything to be lost when the old ME boards go down.

I wouldn't cheat but that's the only female Shepard that I have so yeah. I could however make another one, import her and not cheat but there's just too little time for that. I still need to finish two more playthroughs with another 2 characters.

Hm...it would be tough, unless you were fortunate enough to leave a save from before you completed the romance with Kaidan and can pick up from there. Otherwise, you can always import and then use one import game as Kaidan-loyal and then import that same character again and have the second cheat. Or just start a default game in ME2, but I don't see why anyone with ME1 games to import would forgo those.



It's your call, but I know I certainly wouldn't have a tough decision. XD I mean...it's GARRUS! Badass Archangel with the insane sniper skills? ;p

Oh I'm doing it, forget Kaidan. Garrus is just too awesome not to romance. Of course that all depends on him being romanceable. Let's hope so, I wouldn't like Thane to be the only romance option for females. Ugh Thane

Bear in mind that you can always start a brand new shepard. Over the last few days I've been so focused on creating playthroughs that I forgot that possibility

I have three femsheps: one with kaidan, one single, and another one I created to romance Thane. But honestly, I think I like her enough to become another favorite Shepard of mine, instead of the typical "playthrough created to try an option you didn't before". And I don't like Thane that much. Honestly, I look forward to Jacob for the single femShep I mentioned more than Thane. He just isn't Garrus...

I have another maleshep for the kind of playthrough you create to take all the decissions you would't take normally. So, not a serious playthrough.

The other maleShepard I have, the default John (except he's an engineer) is, in my book, single and completely in love with Garrus. And if Garrus isn't a m/m option (I don't count on it), that's how he'll remain (or maybe, MAYBE I'll pair him off if thane happens to be a m/m option, for reasons I've explained before, being that I don't see thane good enough for femshep : P )

I guess I could create more female Shepards. I have two but I haven't finished with my female soldier and I don't think I have the time to finish. I require three playthroughs to get to level 60 and I'm only on the first with that character. Maybe after I play ME2 for a while I'll go back and make more female Shepards. I still have my males and most of those use Garrus in the party but I'm not interested in an m/m relationship with Garrus. Only females.

As far as I know, there are only 3 LI's per gender, and there are no m/m or f/f relationships in ME2.

(However, Bioware did say not to quote them on that, but for some reason, that just cements my certainty that it's true.)

So, I think:

MaleShep:
Tali
Subject Zero
Miranda
(Because Samara is the only one who hasn't had a scene revealed which could lead to/is part of a romance.)

FemShep:
Garrus
Jacob
Thane
(Because really, could you see Grunt or Legion as a romance?)

Yeah the 3 isn't necessarily accurate. Casey himself said he wasn't sure if it was 3 or more, so not to quote him on it, but as you said there's still a chance it could be true. I do believe, however, that Garrus and Tali will be available as romance options, especially after Casey said that we'd be able to romance some of the characters in ME1 that we couldn't romance before.

Grunt and Legion are, I think, safe to assume as being non-options. Samara's the only one who could possibly throw a wrench into things (if the limit really is only 3), but if they keep her to the spirit of her code, then I doubt she will take up that slot.
