Heheh...we think Garrus is hard at work with the Mako...but in reality he's lurking on FutureYoutube and recording witty one-liners. XD

But I agree and also think that the visor can be made more compact.  It appears that the "screen" (which really appears to be more like a holographic projection) sits on what looks like rails.  I would hypothesize that Garrus can "slide" the "screen" back along the rails to move it out of his line of sight.

Being linked to his brain would also enable him to very quickly and naturally access and assess any data from the HUD itself.  It might be remotely tied to his weapon...for example, he could theoretically have his rifle and visor "paired" and be able to "aim from the hip" and have the visor translate the appropriate data to let him know if he's target-locked or not.

It could be a useful tool in assessing battlefield data: number of enemies, infrared, etc., as well as assessing who is shooting where and what.  And so forth.  Couple that with reacting at the speed of mind and Garrus' visor proves a very formidable tool.

EDIT: Lol, that's alright, It's about 11pm here so I'm not doing much better. XD

I bet he'd watch all the videos with his model replacing the player's char

It would probably be nifty to have it linked to all his gear, so he could constantly see things like shield strength and weapon heat/ammo. For all we know, Garrus could be running around with a HUD just like ours :bandit:

Eye on the HUD like a hawk, faithfully monitoring Shepard's shields and physical status.

Oooor...it could, theoretically, provide a sort of "x-ray" vision. He's always so polite during our conversations, but I could just imagine it's all a front as he enjoys the view. Just sayin'... XD

We have the technology for that now, too, btw...speaking of which, I'll never fly on a plane again. At least not through airports with these security scanners that show people naked. o.O

I think I'll drive instead...or take a train. Trains are lovely, y'know. :P

Haha, I'll never be able to look at that visor the same again after the comment on "x-ray" vision. Just the image of Garrus standing there, looking her over, and Shepard being completely clueless as to what's really going on. Naughty naughty, Mr. Vakarian.

Also, yikes! I think I'd rather take my own two feet. XD So embarrassing!

Brings a whole new meaning to his lines, right? *waggles eyebrows* :innocent:

And yeah...I definitely foresee my days of airline travel coming to an end.

EDIT: I can see it now...

"But Shepard, I just use it to ensure enemy combatants aren't hiding knives or bombs.  It's not like I would use it to stare at your lovely, naked body all day.  That would be unprofessional.  Er...did I say that out loud?" *takes snapshot with visor*

You know, I could see Garrus as being the next Horatio Cane (I love CSI Miame, Ducane=HOT!!!). He's a justice seeker who isn't afraid to "push the boundary" from time to time.

Anyway, I think that his device is a combat related thing. I would imagine that it takes in data on the enemies, their weapons, current positioning, and environmental factors; does some computing wizardry, then produces target priorities and vital statistics.

I can imagine that this device would also aid Garrus in emergency battlefield medical care, giving him updates on vital signs, physical conditions and whatever.

Alright, one one-liner for you.

After a battle, Garrus and my Shepard are having a post-shootout chat.

Garrus: So Shepard, you haven't lost your edge have you.

Shepard: I could do this all day.
*Shepard ejects heat sink from his gun*

*Garrus looks down, turns on visor*
Garrus: I see that's not the only gun you're packing there.

Shepard: O_O

LOL, it really does! Especially all that talk about C-Sec having too many rules and wanting to "do things his way." Oh my.

Garrus: Shepard! Over there!
Shepard: *spins around to see*
Garrus: *takes snapshot*

Meh, it would only count if Garrus were an animal.  He's not, thankfully, so your observations (while a misguided attempt to be witty and superior) kind of fall flat.  Turians, and most of the ME aliens in this fictional sci-fi universe, are sapient, with intelligence on-par or superior to humans.  Read: not animals.  But I can understand why one like yourself might be confused with such matters.

As to furries, that is also inaccurate seeing as the object of our fangirlish squees is quite alien and already sapient by virtue of his species, and not an anthropomorphised animal.

Have a nice day.

I am certain that aliens would/could view humans as nothing more than hairless overgrown lemurs. So this whole 'eww aliens are animals' is ridiculous since it can work both ways.

Indeed. Due to their sapience it would make sense you'd find a similar spectrum of individuals within their respective races as you do within ours. Granted, the spectrum of behaviors would be tailored within their species' overall values system, but you'll still find such traits.

I'm sure Vyrnnus and Saren would have been more likely to view humans as little more than annoying monkeys with guns. :P Then you have those like Nihlus and Garrus who would view humans as sapient equals.

I hope I'm not too late to join the party of my love for Garrus. =P

Afterall, I'm kinda new here. I've been lurking the Garrus Love thread on the other forum, you see. xD

(I have a Garrus desktop wallpaper on my laptop, haha).

Though, I don't see a point why people think all aliens are animals. Not all aliens are similar to animals or something fluffy like the Wookiees.

Heheh, welcome aboard, Darth Ambika. :D Don't worry, it's never too late to join in and strike up discussion (or just squee over Garrus :P).

It would be one thing if we were a love thread for, say, a gas bag or the shifty looking cow. That would be very creepy and then the whole bestiality/zoophilia thing would be accurate. And if we started anthropomorphizing such animals, then the claims of a "furry fandom" would be accurate.

That said, Garrus is a sapient, intelligent man who happens to be a part of a sapient, intelligent race of beings. He is fully capable of voicing his own mind. :P

And so far as I'm concerned, with a voice as sexy as his, he can voice his mind as often as he'd like. :innocent:

Haha, I thought I'm the only crazy one to have a Garrus wallpaper sitting on my laptop x3
I, too, am glad to have Garrus back in the squad again. I kinda expected it coming. I really hope he will be a love interest. So fingers crossed.
If so, I would squeal so hard enough to make me lose my voice in the end. xD

Oh I can squeal over Garrus. He's awesome. ^-^
*whispers* And a smexy-looking Turian too. *ahems*
Also, please call me Ambika. I happen to go along with that username for four years on the forums =]

Eh, some people have their own opinions regarding to it.
Can't really blame them to say at least.

Oh I argee wholehearitly. =3
Garrus' voice makes me melt each time I hear him on the game.

While on the topic of Garrus, I notice something via the picture of Garrus I have. I was curious to know what was that yellow badge seen on the right arm of his armour. I don't think I ever seen it before.

Lol, well...yeah...there was that whole "Shifty Looking Cow" Love thread that was started up on the old forums.  I think the OP meant it as a joke, but I'm sure there were some who were quite serious. ^^;

His voice is like liquid sex-appeal.  It has that flanging effect that at once tweaks and grabs hold of the ear yet is strangely very soothing and smooth.  I could listen to that voice all day...hence why I posted those "Meet Garrus Vakarian" videos in the OP for those like myself who need their Garrus fix. XD

And yes, I've noticed that insignia on his armor.  I'm not sure if it's like rank insignia (such as what you would find on military uniforms) or if it's an armor manufacturer's logo.  I doubt the latter if only because it doesn't seem like any of the armors bear such logos.  If it's the former (as I suspect) the question is who's insignia and what rank it represents.  A winged figure set over bars suggests a higher rank, but it's hard to tell without some sort of guide or comparison that we can draw.

Regardless, it might be why the Mercs call him "Archangel," seeing as that's one of the few identifying features on his person.

Ohhh. I see. xD
I don't think I ever came across with that one since my lurking the Garrus thread. The whole shifty looking cow made me think of cows in flying space saucer in my mind.

Aye, they did a grand job in making a flanging effect for Garrus' voice. It was perfect. I quite admire it really. Same goes to Thane (I do like his voice too).

As a twenty years old, I believe that I still have the whole teenage fangirl-ism thing within me. XD

Yeah possibly the latter, not sure if he's still in the C-Sec after the game. I highly doubt it could be either the Spectre status or the company brand to represent his armour from.

That, or... he could have made the badge for himself with "I love Shepard" in tiny words. >_>

Don't feel bad...I'm 22. :P

Hmm...I can understand why they created the Drells' voices to be like that, but for me I think they took it too far.  Garrus' voice (and that of most other turians) has just enough flanging to be intriguing without being uncomfortable to listen to.  It's as if BW was like, "Hm, fangirls go crazy over Garrus' voice...I know, let's make the Drell (since they were created with fanservice in mind) have flanging x100."  It's too much for me...I hear it and I want to cough or clear my throat.  Not saying it isn't an interesting effect (gives it a watery quality reminiscent of possible design inspirations for the Drell), just that it's too much in my opinion. XD

Garrus' Uniform Insignia:

There are some similarities between them, although the differences are enough to put them in question.  One might be able to assume that his is the insignia for one going through the Spectre training program, as such that could explain the similarities between the insignia and it would then explain the bars.  He could be wearing a standard issue Spectre trainee's uniform, which would explain the presence of the insignia.  Or...that really could be the field insignia for an active Spectre (although I doubt it since Nihlus never wore such a thing). :P

Honesty, I have to admit that I prefer Garrus' voice more that Thane's voice. Don't get me wrong, I mean their voices are great in general (well by that I mean through my earphones). But I personally think that Garrus' voice is 100 times better than Thane's because of the strong effect and the flanging style in his voice.

From what I can see in my eyes, the symbols looks a bit different to each other. I might be wrong or my eyes are playing tricks on me.
There's only one way to find out, is to play the game. xD

I don't know why they still insist on delaying release dates for other regions. I could (almost) understand if they hadn't gotten to work on localizing the game, but we already know that's finished. I mean, it's only a few days' difference after all. You have my empathy... :( But think of it this way...we'll be able to tell you if Garrus ends up being an LI or not. ^^; Okay, that might not be much consolation... >.> *laughs nervously*

I like surprises. *grins*

To make it up the waiting until 12 days time, I'll might make the use of playing around on photoshop and make a Garrus banner/sig. (Already done two Saren sigs before out of my extreme boredomness xD)
