I'm pretty sure they never mentioned Garrus' father by name! A lot of us thought it was Pallin, but he doesn't seem... old enough? To me? I see a much more grizzled turian as the elder Vakarian.

Frankly I always imagined that Garrus' father has probably retired some time before the game, or at the very least worked in a branch of C-Sec on one of the other Ward Arms. It would definitely be interesting to meet him during the course of this game however... Though I can just imagine what he'd start saying if he saw Garrus traveling with us again...

I don't think Pallin could be Garrus' father, they both have different markings on their face. It's a shame he didn't mention his father's name, it would be interesting to meet him in the game.



If Garrus were, say, he became a Spectre, I wonder how his father react to it because he seems to dislike the Spectres in general.

That reminds me, I've been wondering about Garrus' father.

I remember him telling me at some point that he and his father were estranged, but for the life of me I can't remember at what point it was.

Anyone remember a convo like that?

I don't think he ever comes out and specifically claims that they are estranged, but rather heavily implies it from his tone and dialogue. I think it's spread out over several of the conversations you have with him while on the Normandy, though I can't remember which ones in particular. For some reason I keep on thinking it might have been brought up in the second conversation, but given my poor memory chances are that's dead wrong. >__>

Hmm, darn. I can't even be bothered to make a new character to check this close to ME2 release.
I remember breezing through a convo with him on my renegade soldier last-two-achievements-run and hearing something I'd not heard him say before and almost panicking when I realised I'd just skipped to the end already

Okay...*phew*...now that I've updated the OP...

I am 99% positive Pallin is not Garrus' father, especially because Garrus differentiates between them in conversations. When he speaks of his father, he calls him "father," and when he speaks of Pallin, he calls him "Pallin."   Not to mention his father was crushed he left C-Sec, and Pallin was all "well just quit if you don't like it," after Garrus got pissed off at the Executor's policies allowing Saleon to escape. 

Garrus' theme rocks. I have it linkied in the OP now, so much obliged Jellobell. And also, thank you Deviija and CurrentlyUnknown for the awesome screenies and SpectreSebz for the gif. ^^ All were incorporated into the OP. ^^

Rioteous: We sooo need a synthesizer to sound like Turians. And that Garrus head is awesome. I remember when I first saw that, I was blown away. Then I was all: I want naow! Then I realized I could never have afforded it, even if the artist had others for sale.

I can't wait to encounter him in ME2. I wonder what he'll be like. I think I might of turned him into grey person leaning toward renegade because I said some things that I regret out of anger at Saren. However, I could still make him whatever I want in this installment.

The devs have been quoted as describing Garrus as a "Compassionate Renegade". He wants to help people but he has the "at any cost" bug. Though in ME1 you can change that. I can't wait to see if that does anything in ME2. Only a week to go WOOT!!!!



I just did yet another play through. Only this time I made sure it was PERFECT. I couldn't remember all my old saves so I finally just started one from scratch and completed EVERY SINGLE QUEST....pant pant pant (I had to reclick EVERY solar system/planet in the game cause I missed one thing for the minerals quest ugh). That and I didn't have a sole survivor/colonist game.



This time though I pursued NO romance. I shot down Kaiden and Liara at every turn. I don't have one of those saves. That way I am TOTALLY free for Garrus.

Yes, Garrus is crushable, huggable, and very sexy.  He is also the worst tease in ME1.  I mean...how else can you interpret his lines? He knew Shep was pining for him...oh, yes, he knew. =.=

Isn't it strange? XD The put some "hot" 3D piece o' meat guy in there, hoping we girls would just mob the guy, and we wind up going for the barely humanoid alien squadmate... I suppose we girls are funny that way. :3 And Garrus's epicness can not be denied. So, in order words, WELCOME!

I'm curious just how different he'll be... They (the devs) obviously don't want to make it too hard on themselves, seeing as making a videogame is such a huge process, hah. I am very excited to see what they do too! :} Garrus FTW!

The only save I was lazy on was my Renegade, lol. It's nice being renegade... You just say, "NO," to everyone and be a total do*che. :3 But I'm on my final playthrough! New Game + with my FemShep! Here's to hoping I don't die of ME overload! XD If that's even possible, hurr~

I'm really looking forward to seeing how Garrus has evolved as a character. I'd love to see him become more of an individual than a walking codex entry. ^^ Not that that was all he was in ME2...thankfully they let him be more "personal" than they allowed Tali so far as that's concerned.

You know, you could be having dreams about Garrus and just not remember them. XD Brains are evil like that, they like to make you forget the nice dreams in favor for the unsavory ones.
