That's most likely because there's only one face structure, one set of eyes, one nose, two eyebrows and two mouths can be considered 'attractive'. And as you see... almost everyone uses those same options, only hair changes. A little.

My third Shep, Sylvia. After a first (boy scout) and second (renegade by way of Faith from BtVS), she's somewhere in the middle. Might get along with Mordin really well ("lots of ways to help people..."), though still leans paragon.

To each his own. I've mentioned before I'm not even remotely fond of the default FemShep face and spent a good hour, if not more, working on my own FemShep until I got a look I liked. So far, I prefer my own over nearly all of the ones I've seen here. There are two FemSheps I can think of off of the top of my head who I really like and who aren't mine and neither of them look anything like the default.

Yeah, I found myself spending a lot of time (for me comparatively) tweaking my Fem-Shep, and mine don't look even HALF as good as many of the customs here.  It seems like the PC Users have a LOT easier time making something truly unique and interesting.  I just went for a general look on mine.  For example, I tried to make David look as young as he could, though that's difficult given the faces were made with Meer's voice in mind

Isobel Shepard; Colonist and War Hero; Infiltrator, Operative. Utter goody two-shoes. Of course you need to be if you want to get as far away as possible from the stigma that comes with her pre-service history.

Oh, yes, I keep forgetting it's on the 360. Well, not really forgetting, but I don't have any real reason to remember, if that makes sense (not an insult directed at console gamers, just saying I don't own a 360 and therefore never imagine myself playing on one).

I suppose using a controller instead of a mouse might be more time-consuming when it comes to getting a Shepard to look unique. I don't know if you can drag the sliders on the 360 by holding down a button or if tapping the arrows on the sliders are the only way to change your Shep. I know for, say, hair color and nose shape, it wouldn't matter either way. But it might matter for nose size, jaw width, etc.

As far as I can see, the only hairstyle that's popular is the one on the default Jane Shepard, alongside the short hair brushed behind ears look. Otherwise I think some of these shepards are really unique. The thing with mass effect is that they make the mouths far too wide, so I'm not surprised everybody sticks to small mouths.

Sorry it's a little dark. I tried making this one look like Liv Tyler. Probably should have made the hair black but I saw a pic of her with a lighter brown. Ohhhh well. Whatever.



I'm going to use this face for one of my preexisting femSheps (she's hiiiideous, I must have been on something when I created her) when I import her into ME2.

i haven't scanned the rest of the thread, but i am pretty sure i made the ugliest Shepard ever, seen in the bottom right of the image:



seriously, it's the face not even a mother could love. every dialogue session was a complete cringe-fest, with "OH WHY OH WHY DID I MAKE THIS MONSTROSITY?!" going through my head. i only made him to mop up some Biotics achievements, so i didn't bother finishing the game with him.
