You did a great job on both those faces. Good symmetry / proportions on them, much like the default sheperd.

Almost all other male sheps I've ever seen look like mutants... but both of yours are nicely done (the black fella especially - looks like a real face pretty much).

Well I don't know about hotness since I don't see any in him to begin with but that may simply be because I'm a guy. Anyway on to my point.....he looks exactly like that in the game so I don't see what differences you're talking about.

I am obviously a female. I obviously find him attractive. I obviously find his in-game counterpart less hot.

What is there to understand?! It's the same as people finding Yvonne Strahovski attractive, but not her game counterpart!

Pssh, it's not make-up. She's genetically engineered to look like a hooker, it throws her enemies off-balance.

Too much makeup on these female Shepherds.

Lots of FemSheps with the default long-ish hair...not that there's anything wrong with that. For some reason I just thought it was surprising.

My male Shepard is a default Sheploo, Paragon etc. 
Female is Janissary "Jane" Shepard. Spacer, War Hero, Vanguard/Nemesis, Renegade. The only Paragon-like choices I made was probably letting the Rachni Queen live and saving the Council. To this day, I can't figure out why I saved them considering how I played the rest of the game. May have to replay the ending to rectify that.

I was originally going to make a fair looking FemShep with blonde hair...but then I heard her voice. So I made her a little more tough looking and gave her that kick ass scar across her face. Stuck with big femmy eyes, though.
