I'm still stuck with my ME1, playing it through again and again.... I'm gettin pretty jealous for you all with ME2, characters look really amazing. But I won't start it just yet. Anyways, for my next 2 playthroughs in ME1 I tried to copy some of the best female looks I found, without sliders. Here are the results, more pictures in the links below.

Everyone uses this ugly hairdo.
The first time I saw this hairstyle in the game was on that chick's video diary in Samara's loyalty quest.
I thought that was like just what she looked like when she was all messed up -- cuz she was obsessed with you know what.  Kind of like a druggy.
It looks greasy, messy, and gross.
I wouldn't wanna touch it.

Ummm...my video game character's hair looks greasy and real people don't want to touch it - what to do....

I'm divided on this hairstyle.  On one hand Shepard looks permanently drenched.  On the other it can be very flattering to face shape.
It works for your Shepard though.  She looks hot and badass.

Maybe because Bioware was kind enough to give us a detailed male default of an actual person but not for female Shepard?  Just a thought.  If I played as a male Shepard I'd just use Sheploo.  The female default is just a preset made in the character creator.  Almost all custom femsheps look better. 
Either way, if you look at the threads and the face website there are plenty of custom males.

The first one I've had to remake from scratch a few times owing to some problems with lost data over the years. I doubt the Shepard I'm using now has the exact same face code, but the differences aren't noticeable. That shot is from my first Shepard; the one I'm on now is my second remake. She was a soldier in ME1, but I changed her to Vanguard for ME2. Victor, my male Shepard, was a Vanguard in ME1 and it was a lot of fun. Unfortunately, I lost him in a disk format last year and I haven't gotten around to remaking him.

He looks very realistic and great! I definitely want to make something like him in the future. It's a lot harder to try to make "normal" looking Shepards with normal-looking facial features or with one distinct feature like big nose or lips and still make it look good... Pretty is kindof easy, but realistic looking is harder to achieve.

How did you make your Shepard into a profile avatar? Is there some info on the site how to do that?
