Bored, got my last playthrough to finish but I think I've got DA poisoning; lacking motivation and all that - underwhelmed, I need some entertainment on the side to keep me interested in this game before I pack it in.
Rogue with zerker spec?
Warrior with assasin spec, shadow spec perhaps?
Then you've got diff classes using diff weps - Perhaps a DW Mage?
Staff wielding warrior? (Prolly should check out IN1's Allure's class, but with a better staff)
And if you do have an idea perhaps a unqiue armour setup to go with it too?
Why not?
DW Mage? Rogue Beserker? Need ideas for fantasy cross class/build character

Bad idea perhaps.

Nah, I think the forums are just dead. Cross-class builds are also more of a pc/modder's terrain, since console players don't get access to the console (quite ironically).
With any rpg using the three main class archetypes (might, finesse, magic) there's the standard hybrids between the three. I'm not sure why they didn't do this with DA2 (what with everyone getting excited about the bladed mage staffs etc), but it's a little harder to implement via console due to balance issues.
Since the abilities are balanced/designed for one class alone, quite a few abilities are either way overpowered or simply don't work.
For example, most of the warrior self-buffs become ridiculously powerful on rogues and mages since they were balanced with the warrior's lower base damage in mind.
Pre-patch it was possible to equip a hammer on a mage/rogue, allure's crook on a rogue/warrior, and a shield on rogues (it crashed the game with a mage). While using those weapons, half the abilities didn't work properly (probably due to missing animations). So while it might seem cool to have a staff wielding rogue/warrior or a DW mage, you're actually going to be limiting yourself to autoattacks, self-buffs, and the odd ability that may work (e.g. holy smite with staffs).
That said, I think that a S&S warrior with rogue abilities could be cool, especially playing solo. Drop into stealth, disorient a few people with disorienting criticals, then let loose a few CCCs. You could even get a pretty brutal combo going with lacerate - stagger an enemy with a pommel strike or shield bash, then hit them with an assault dealing double damage.
I doubt assassinate or vendetta would work, but some of the passives and sustains from the specialisations could be pretty useful.
The most overpowered glass cannon setup I can come up with would be some sort of reaver-bloodmage (with some assassin and berserker thrown in). Since rogues get the highest base damage (and crit chance), it makes sense to go with either DW or archer.
Use haste, barrage, fervor, and the primeval lyrium rune for ~160% attack speed
Use cleave and sacrificial frenzy for the damage bonus.
With blood magic enabled, all those abilities would drain your health, increasing the damage bonus from sacrificial frenzy. If I'm not wrong, each attack with berserk enabled would also drain some health, making fights rather interesting. haha
In terms of attributes, a high willpower berserker setup without sustains could take advantage of the way stamina isn't affected by abilities, and a full dex/cun, non-willpower setup could use heaps of sustains to take advantage of lack of a stamina limit.
I would go for the high number of sustains (since you'll end up with more attack, critical chance, critical damage, and various defensive bonuses), but the high willpower setup would have the higher base damage.
It would be even more overpowered if you added some companion trees in (e.g. vengeance and marksman), but as it is, it'll already be ridiculously overpowered.

I prolly understand why people don't comment now, you'll come along and give the correct info anyway, rendering their comments obsolete. Was gona say shame on them for not commenting but it's understandable now. (:
Cheers 4 response. Clarified and cleared up things for me. Got something to go by now should I try it out.
