hmm interesting. Let me see.



Morrigan is a fav for me. Mostly due to the fact that she is smexy but with her current build (I use her as a debilitator/controller) she controls a large battle very well. I also tend towards the "evil" ways on most characters.



Zevran is my choice for hard-hitting dps once spec'd "correctly" for my play style. When his Tactics are set he can down several enemies very very quickly. I modeled his build after my own Rogues planned set-up.



To fill my last spot I switch between Leliana as an archer (yes i know ewww.. but I make it work REALLY well) and Oghren/Sten/Shale for melee dps depending on story content I am in, ect...



That is for my AW Mage (AW/SH with no true healing) I use a group heal once every 3 years or so on Hard dificulty.



With my Warrior tank I ALWAYS had Wynne (heals) Alistair (DW dps) and would switch Morrigan, Leliana, Zevran depending on needs for an area.

Three I usually have is Shale, Leleiana and Wyne. Shale poses as a good tank + damage dealer and the elemental crystals really help too. Wyne because she is a healer obviously and lastly Leleiana as a Bow and Arror Specialist.

Leliana Alistair and Morrigan in no particular order. They're my group that I use all the time and I love all of them. Alistair's really funny and he's my character's brother in arms. Leliana, put simply, is cute, and after a while, she depends on my character and my character depends on her. And Morrigan, even though she's some kind of sneaky witch-thief is still a fun character to have around.

It depends on my PC class. As a rogue I usually take Alistair, Wynne and Morrigan. As a mage, I usually take Alistair, Leliana and Wynne. I always try different combinations to see what dialogs happen. The best ones involve Zevran and Wynne and Morrigan and Sten. However there is one zinger between Sten and Leliana when she catches him picking flowers. Wynne and Ogden have some interesting conversation but they are not funny. It seems that Alistair and Morrigan have more dialogue than any other combination and many of those are story related.



However Morrigan is a poor choice in general if you are play "good" as she will disapprove of many of your decisions which makes boosting her approval rating hard. Sten also disapproves of any decisions that does not involving killing everyone. OTOH all good and merciful decisions get big bonus points from Wynne, Leliana and Alistair. Zevran seems to be rather indifferent about your PC's decisions.

I use Alistair, Leliana, and Wynne.



I do play with the sound turned all the way off though, as I watch TV shows and/or Movies while I am playing. And yes, sometimes I have both a TV show and a Movie playing while I am playing a game.

I have subtitles on, so I read all the necessary game dialog, but I don't hear any of the banter that goes on between them, so my choice for my companions is strictly based on what I need for a balanced team.



Leliana is my ranged attacker, Wynne of course is my healer, and Alistair and My PC AW are the tanks. Since I did just finish the Dwarven areas, I was using Oghren in place of Alistair , but I will probably switch them back for the added Defense that Alistair has.

1, Morrigan - I love her attitude. She makes no apologies for she is, and in a lot of ways is possible the most honest of your companions.



2. Dog - Interactions in camp are just gold. I don't always pick the dog for my team, but I find her a comforting presence regardless.



3. Shale - Shale is simply hilarious. I can't say any more without hitting spoiler territory, but Shale is just so interesting a character,



Honourable mention goes to Alistair. He's fun, he's funny, and he's loyal. Unfortunately his role tends to be the one I need the least when I play, so he gets left to the side a lot.

1.Sten; There is a simplicity in him that I find interesting if not amusing.



2.Alistair; He and I, I think to some degree are or were initially alike...he reminds me of Naruto like characters and archetype... In a way I admire, what I consider his selflessness, I just like him! I'm not going to explain myself ><!



3. Wynne; because she is easy to talk to.

Characterwise, I love all the characters really but my favorites were Alistair, Morrigan, and Oghren. Alistair and Morrigan are interchangeable at positions numbers 1 and 2 since most of the good stuff with them is when they are together.

What I actually run with, if I'm not running as a rogue with lockpicking, I switch back and forth between Leliana and Zevhran.

Morrigan is the mage I travel with mostly,  But sometimes I'll have Wynne in the party as a second mage if I'm running as a rogue.

I usually use Alistair as my tank but have used Shale at some points in the game.  That's usually when my PC is a dps.

I really don't use Sten or the Dog but I still do Sten's character quest in every playthrough.

I've used Oghren on the playthrough my PC was a tanking warrior.
