So is that the permanent "top ten" now and has the vault finally siezed up ?
I'm not saying this to harass anyone into action as it's none of my business I just wondered.

Unfortunately, I'm afraid that also this list will be lost in the depths of the vault :-(

It's actually worse than that, as the "Top..." scripts are out of my reach completely. I can't update them, fix them or even turn them off ;-(
About all I can do is publish now and then someone's list.
Well, that and continue working on the Vault v2.0 :-)
This brings up a pretty good topic, though - what "lists" do you think should clutter up the front page? If they're not on the front page, where should people run across then? (There's a completely separate discussion about revamping the voting process that I want to revisit, but not, I think, here, as there was already some great discussion about it in another thread)
Currently I'm not listing any projects except in the "what's New" highlight slideshow. But then, I haven't really got the migration started either, so there's not much to sort into lists :-P
The Vault has always been for this community and will remain so. But V2 will be (I'm hoping) considerably more flexible.

Which thread Rolo ?

I am a big fan of the vault, it is sad to see the old ship creaking like this.
Does this mean the end of the top modules list?

Hmmm, been meaning to resurrect that voting discussion...
Top modules: By what criteria? Download? Installed and used? We have the possibility to get a count from Pain's Neverlauncher every time someone uses a module... what better metric than how often a mod is used? Just ideas here.
I'm certainly willing to build any list we can define, but how many and what kinds would be on the front page?
While not a necromancer, I *am* a Dr Who fan and I don't think this is the end for the Vault at all :-)
Nor the top modules list.

With regards to using a "neverlauncher" or whatever it is I'd imagine that unless a module has been set up for it then it will look bad and I'd say more than half the things on the vaults makers have disappeared and aren't about to update or change their works.

Neverlauncher works fine, you don't have to set up a module for it, painofdungeoneternal makes it work automagically.Iveforgotmypassword wrote...
How about keeping the new modules bit for fresh arrivals and not even having lists of top things, halls of fame or votes just years eg 2012 modules, 2013 modules then you could just click a year and see a list with a download count and it wouldn't have to change just keep track on downloads and forget the voting part.

Other possibilty : have a permanent link on the Vault front page (sticky or any other way) to a list maintained here (with links to the Vault pages)
For the time being it is very frustrating for the authors who submit new creations. And of course players may miss good modules. I don't know it it's impacts modules only or all creations.
I'm glad that 16 Cygni still makes regular downloads
As Alupinu's Fanglewood, Sarmates! never made it to the the Top NWN2, although it should have, so I started to suspect things and noticed that the charts were not updated since long. The only way to find recent modules pushed off the 5 more recent list, is to click on NEW Modules and to sort the list by dates ... Or to search for the name or the author in the search engine ...
Thanks to Rolo, my little list has at least be seen by some players.

Actually... I can sticky your module list right now... *scurries off to the hive*
Edit: Now you should add links to it :-)

Reviews. *sniff*. Reviewer's guild. *lip-quiver*. *misses Queen Silverwing horribly*
Just about everything with reviews and the reviewers guild has been broken since they disbanded.
What issues exactly did you have? And can you wait until Celophraie is migrated to V2?

Thanks Rolo. Late here. I'll put the links soon and try to update the list regularly.

I more than happy to wait!
I just wanted to be fair to any modder and vote on their mod when I play it.
The issue look like I was able to comment, but not vote.
My tag on there is "Friar."
Also, it didn't seem like my comment was being saved. It looks like it was now. Just the vote part wasn't. I didn't want to double post, but I might have and you probably corrected it already.. if it did double post. Which it looks like it didn't..
Why does my response look like something a gnome would say?

Vault preservation project, if ( or when ) the vault goes down, the vault continues on that new version 2.0. Rolo Kipp ( who is involved in the official vault ) is managing it and the real vault.
I am doing what I can to help ensure it's a complete backup of all the files and get the technical stuff working, but still do not look forward to it happening. Users are encouraged to make sure they have accounts on the new vault while we can still verify who you are via the old vault.
