I've been trying not to spoil myself. Are there other theories beyond Flemeth and natural disaster?

Not that I know of.
Heh, nobody's buying the natural disaster explanation   B)It's mostly: "OMG, Flemeth I KNEW IT".

You know what that means.

Hawke ressurected the Shadow Goddess that nearly wiped out humanity and destroyed our former home.

MAKER DAMN IT, HAWKE!

The statement is a clear and blunt "The Firs Blight lasted one hundred years," so there's no way to make it refer to only the time afte the Wardens came into existence. It's a direct contradicton of the -395 to -203 date we got from the Origins lore, so I'm not sure what you mean by "that number fits."

Ah, sorry I was unclear.

Yes, in the first section it says that it lasted 100 years.

But in the timeline it lasts 192 years (-395 to -203 Ancient) and in the blight section the timeline and not the original section is confirmed.

So no, it's not so much a contradiction as a editing failure that snuck past. You needn't worry about it, they just wrote the wrong thing in the original section. All other mentions are the same as in Origins.

I have a hard time picturing this being the explanation for...what?  A group-wide delusion that we're being spoken to by the spirits of centuries-old dead people who were connected to Andraste?

*butts in*

Why is this surprising?  You can enter into a group delusion based on someone else's memories projected through the Fade, yet also encounter independent spiritual entities there as well.

The Ashes Temple is not that much different from a Fade sequence.  A projection of individual consciences jumbled together with spiritual phenomena which have ties to the physical world and actual historical events.  Some of the ghosts, like Jowan, even suggest that they're just a figment of the Warden's mind.

I believe I have found a mistake in the book.
In page 157, regarding the Second Blight, it is written than the Darkspawn sacked Minrathous. However, a codex entry written by Brother Genitivi states that Minrathous has never fallen.
