Disruptor ammo is the best ammo type in the game.

If they are close enough to be hit by it, then its just a bonus. But you dont have to reach them with the fire explosion. the acolyte fires once every second, and throw once every second. if you alternate between the two, you can output an attack every half second. Phantoms are usually too busy putting up their bubble and dodging around to worry about anything else.

Either way, you can laugh at the acolyte, but its a very aggressive and very effective combo. I'm sure I have a couple pug videos laying around to prove it.

I honestly only find Disruptor ammo useful on a couple of kits ... both of which have Overload. GE with GPS (charge GPS > shoot + Overload simultaneously does a lot of damage). TSent with a Falcon.

Oh, there is a third, SE with Viper. In all cases though, it's about the Tech Burst.


In all other instances there are better choices in my opinion...
For SR specced Infils, Phasic or Drill rounds.
For Biotic classes, Warp or occasionally Cryo rounds.
Kroldier, Krentinel, KroGuard, QMI, BatSol, Vorcha Hunter, Geth Juggy - and hell, even the Volus Adept and Vanguard - I prefer Incendiary rounds.
AP rounds I'll use on a couple of kits.


So, for me anyway, the priority list would probably be something like:

Incendiary > Warp > Disruptor > Cryo > Phasic > AP > Drill > Explosive (fnar)

(if I used SR Infils more often the order might be slightly different)

I really like all ammo...except Explosive. I used to hate Cryo until the last patch that made CryoHuman Soldier Godly with C.Shot. I agree that Disruptor is pretty underrated though.

@MasterReefa good read man - sounds like Disruptor rounds are more suited to Geth Faction though (cant see it doing as well against armour), what weapons/character combos would you reccomend using with Disruptor rounds?

Any vanguard with a Talon.
Any engineer with Lancer/Saber/Wraith.
PPR Human soldier.
That's just off the top of my head though.

Disruptor is second on my list "most useless ammo types". First is for you, explosive. Third would be Cryo. Actually cryo was not that bad as I thought.

Incendiary is the best for me followed closely by warp. AP, Drill, Phasic, Polonium... oh wait

AP is awsum for increasing damage on certain weapons that otherwise sucks as hell. I.e. Spitfire, GPR.

Doesn't that depend on the level of the ammo used? So lvl 4 Incendiray would combo into 4-6 explosion?

Disruptor are fourth place behind Incendiary, AP, and Warp.

Not as lackluster as Cryo, they are definitely underrated. Shields get owned so fast that tech bursts become somewhat obsolete compared to Biotic and Fire explosions.

They are ok. Good for geth and cerberus, kinda meh for the other two. Wont use it if there are biotic teammates, rather use phasic so i dont mess up their explosions

I use it on my geth engie. but also my vorcha because it strips shields and its detonatable, so I can shoot anyone with shields, and flamer anyone with health and then lob a cluster nade and explode them all

Used on HE and QMI tonight. Pleasantly surprised since I got 170 Disruptor 4 left. On gold they are used stunning troopers so nothing's shooting at you. Useless in plat since 1) low level TB does nothing.
2) boss spam so nothing to stun.

It's pretty awesome on the Slayer vs Cerberus/Geth.

I've started using it on snipers as well, not only for tech bursts, but also because of the fact that Phasic is bugged v. Banshees and Phantoms.

Love disrupter rounds, for me they are mandatory against geth to give them a taste of their own medicine, also people don't seem to appreciate the buff that gave them 400% (i think) effectiveness against shields. My turian soldier can strip a full atlases shields in 1 hurricane clip with disrupter IV with a beat of heat sink luck.
