Please vote!  I'm interested in seeing the numbers.  Some other folks have other good ME2-related polls, too, while you're over there :)

social.bioware.com/673220/polls/1186/

Edit: The title got cut off, and I'm sure you can interpolate the rest, but poll's designs should be precise, so it reads "What morality do you intend to use in your FIRST playthrough of Mass Effect 2?"

Edit again: Thanks for all the responses! ^_^  I've added a follow-up poll: http://social.biowar...220/polls/1196/.

I'm always 100% Renegade/ 20-30% Paragon so I chose leaning to even it out? But that's just who I am; not shooting for #'s in particular.

I have found that playing as an anti-racist, pro-alien renegade is the most satisfying.

My intention in creating the poll was that would count as leaning, even if you fill the renegade bar.  But that's a very good point! Thanks for pointing out the ambiguity:)

Well after the council continues to be effectively useless and takes no action and I have to go save humanity with only Cerberus behind me then I have no reason to be anything but excessively renegade. I saved all their behinds in ME1 which effectively means they owe me big time...if they turn their backs on me now then it's on.....no more being nice from now on.

Frankly, the idea of working with Cerberus, a human supremacist organization makes me physically sick.

I only hope the game gives me the chance to eventually destroy them once they've outlived their usefulness.

I will be heavily leaning Paragon, but there are always a few choices which I just feel the Renegade option is the safer bet.

The council is no better.....all their species have a Cerberus equivalent and they know it. Without Cerberus we'd be left behind and discarded in no time. Sure nobody wants to ever publically acknowledge these kinds of organizations but nobody can advance and survive without them. Cerberus brought Shepard back to life....likely with the reaper implants developed from the experiments they developed in the upcoming novel ME Retribution(set before ME2). Then they developed and paid for the SR2....a much better stealth ship effective against the collectors...and the L5 implants. Through those actions alone Cerberus has saved not just hmanity but the gallaxy as well and we'll desperately need them in the fight against the reapers. Whether moral or not we as the players owe them absolutely everything and we of all should know better than to be like the two faced council that turn their backs on those that helped them the most.

The council considers every citadel species an important member of it's community but it would be too much of a burden to place all of the responsibilities that come with being a counil race on races that are less developed and not ready to deal with the responsibilities that come with overseeing an organization which deals with so many billions of lives.

It's the same reason why many people oppose the Baltic states ascension into the EU.

The council seeks cooperation, Cerberus seeks dominance and coercion. The council merely requires that other races prove themselves capable of standing up for the galactic community which humanity did in Mass Effect 1.

It would be irresponsible to let just any race join.

So essentially they are supposed to help but they won't because we have to prove capable of beating a species far more advanced than ourselves....and far more advanced than the other council races too....on our own?NO...THIS is exactly the kind of situation that demands their unified action. We more than proved ourselves when the Alliance single handedly took out the geth and the reaper that were easily decimating the citadel fleet.

Council seeks cooperation, but also utilizes SPECTREs who are more or less tools of dominance & coercion to keep 'galactic stability'. To consider the Council righteous is naive. Slow to act, suspicious beyond reason, ultimately ineffectual.

Humans learned from the succession of Alliance Military from Earth that there's a time for debate, and there's a time for action. Cerberus being a former Alliance Black-Operations Unit, understands this better than anyone, and forms the basis of their philosophy.

Dude I was Paragon for almost everything and even I couldn't let the council live. Not after how retarded they were acting. They were the biggest factor in the galaxy getting that bad in the first place.

However, I did form a new council afterwords. Not a human dictatorship, that would just be horrible. I mean really, we can't even trust ourselves half the time as a species. Why does it matter if I put aliens up there or all humans? The game shows we all generally act the same, it doesn't really matter.

So if it doesn't matter in terms for any other party being better than the other, then why not at least attempt to do the good thing by putting an old council in rather than a human centric one.

Agreed.  I got too attached to having Garrus with me as a sort of sidekick/Spectre Jr. to do otherwise.

You know what...it's OK. Because if they didn't fear us enough to fall in line they will after this. Because they know none of them can stand up to the Collectors and that will only boost our reputation when a single human vessel with a dozen fighting members takes out the Collectors.

Leaning Paragon. Just like in real life. I'm nice to people I like, but I'm an ass to people I don't like.
