Been replaying the three games for the last month or so (complete playtrhoughs) and is currently right at Sur Kesh in ME3. ME1 & 2 are just as amazing as ever, but something I especially noticed after a trilogy playthrough like this is the incredible attention to detail in ME3.

No, the graphics themselves are not THAT much better than ME2, though they seem to have an extra layer of polish that makes the game really nice to look at. Also, there seems to be so many more things in the enviroments of 3 to look at. The places you visit feels like actual places, instead of the (often) endless corridors of ME2.

Such a pretty, colorful and detailed game. <3

No it isn't.

Granted, I don't play the ME games on consoles, but judging by PC standards now they are fairly lackluster.

There are some nice areas, but if we're talking pure graphic fidelty all the ME games are guilty of using extremely low resolution textures for the most part.

Too bad attention to details didn't make it into final levels. Kinda shows.

Priority Earth and the endings needed more work, it was likely rushed to ship the game in time.

Final level? Just look at the first level - hell, since that was in the demo it was simply an epic fail that Bioware did not manage decent quality of the animations they were showing to the public to promote their game.

Your opinion does not equate to an absolute. I think they are far superior games visually. In fact ME uses Unreal, which really isn't all that demanding.

The RED Engine is far better. As is the 4A engine.

I'd rather look at Tomb Raider.

That really is a pretty stunning visual experience. Very immersive.

Wait ... you weren't referring to Angelina Jolie, were you?

Anyway, I greatly prefer the art design and graphical decisions in the first two games.

Oh hey, I know that video.

I don't like a lot of the artistic decisions in this game. Tuchanka and Rannoch were just brown, utterly uninteresting to look at. I did like some of the pallette choices on various levels: white/green on Sur'Kesh worked wonderfully as did most instances of the blue/orange pairing. The Geth Dreadnought, the surface of Menae, Mars... None of these were fun to look at.

I never said ME3 was the best looking game of all time. Simply that, compared to the other two games, it's a lot more detailed and vibrant looking.

Also, ME1 and 2 had crappy looking 2d sprites all over the place. Stop acting like that was exclusive to ME3.
