I am currently considering my next installation of Tutu and am wondering this:

If I have kits installed in the BGII part of the game, will those be automatically available in Tutu or do they have to be installed in Tutu as well?

Some kits are given as parts of quest mods in BGII and obviously those mods cannot and should not be installed in Tutu, but I would like continuity of characters. Some combinations obviously shouldn't work Knight/Druid for example as a character obviously cannot be both true neutral and lawful good simultaneously, but a Knight dualled to mage should work OK and would have some benefits.

I am also wondering about the time when the character loses his fighter abilities. At that time would the mage be able to use ranged weapons, if as a knight they were unavailable?

Tutu needs a clean (patched) install of BG2 to create a Tutu install, so you wouldn't be able to import features of BG2 mods to Tutu if they are not applied to the Tutu install after installing Tutu. So no BG2-bonus-by-quest-kits alas.

As to your second question: AFAIK, restrictions to the first class DO apply, while advancing in the second class. Alas again.

Thanks for the help.
That's a shame.
I would really like to take some of the paladin kits through the game from the beginning.

Well, you can play Inquisitor, Cavalier, Undead Hunter or install a Tutu kitpack (though I can't tell you what packs install Paladin kits, I never ventured beyond the Cavaliers and Inquisitors - the Faêrun Inquisition is bad enough - NO, please, not the Comfy Chair!)

The paladins of Faêrun is one set of mods that contain new paladins. Only problem is, I don't like them!

Ones that I like are the Dragonslayer, the Crusader and the Fright of Liches.

I haven't tried them yet however, but they look interesting.

They are in Enhanced BG2  along with some other interesting kits, and also some other interesting bits and pieces.

Install BGT, the mods should then work in the BG1 portion too? You just need another 5-7gb of hard disk space...
